CCP IPO

I have heard rumors of the possibility of an IPO if the company runs dry on cash to invest in works in progress. If you were to be able to buy shares of CCP, would you do so? Would there be much point to the CSM any longer if we had such direct representation? How many of you would vote for the removal of Hilmar, the Iceland management, and the relocation of the corporation to some place like Delaware? (no corp taxes there)

I myself would at least move to pay the small-folk at the company a competitive wage at the very least.

IBTL and/or massive flamestrikes.

If they were voting shares, I might buy in. Shareholder meetings would be "interesting", to say the least. Blink

You mean these rumors?

Quote:

In addition to launching DUST, Reid says the funding will allow CCP to prepare for an IPO. The company doesn’t have any immediate plans to go public, but he says the money “allows us is to do some of the things you need to do for IPO preparedness,” such as building greater redundancy into its computer systems, so that it’s ready to go public when and if the time is right.

That ones that talk about preparedness and no immediate plans? Sure, I would totaly invest in a non-existent IPO. Can I use PLEX for shares?

We must acquire shares before the carebears do.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

Companies who are dry on cash don't usually do well going public.

Just sayin'.

Timing is pretty important when launching an IPO. Given all the failed IPOs in 2011 and 2012, I don't know who they would find to underwrite it and I don't think it would be in CCPs interest to do it at this time. I would wait a year or two before you get too excited about a CCP IPO.

I'd buy one for novelty value. And to feel like a part of an owner Smile

If they were in that kind of trouble, would you really invest in the first place?

And, they would be bought out by a major company before that day happened....

Thank you for moving it. I thought about this after posting that it did not actually involve content in game but, rather the company only. However, it was too late.

yeah but remember, EVE players already blow loads of money on it, imagine what happens when they start buying all the shares day one so they can finally enforce their wills onto the company

also, i dont imagine it would end up as a massive IPO with huge big money venture capitalists buying into it

I would buy as many shares as I could, probably empty out my savings on it. Then when I had a controlling interest I would force a CEO vote. Xenuria for CEO
