The awesome TV shows I grew up with Sad

Sadly they just don't make that type of quality TV for kids anymore.

Well, at least he lived past the presumed apocalypse on 21/12/12.

Good night, sweet prince.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Yeah. Found out last night from a tweet by William Gibson of all things.

His best show though, despite its hare-brained premise, was Space:1999. I had forgotten that at the time it was the most expensive series TV show ever made.

His puppet based shows were a bit before my time and concurrent till I was 2 years old, and were not in reruns in rural Arkansas, so I pretty much missed out until I was 13 and Starlog Magazine ran an episode guide of them all.

Great stuff. Sad day.

I say there should be bouncers on the door to keep him out.

And let's not forget Fireball XL-5.

The music at 0:55 should kick in every time we enter warp. Lol

Amusing to think if the latter part after 1:04 were on the playlist Lol

edit: How did I ever survive the super-cheesy groovy 70's ?

Yeah, saw this... Saw all those puppets in my mind's eye doing the 'missing man' formation over his memorial.
Sad

RIP Gerry!

Another of my Childhood heroes bits the dust! Sad

I loved Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds & Joe 90 as a kid

In later life I even enjoyed his off beat late night comedy **** Spanner PI from the early days of Channel 4
