Removing a bounty

One of my alts woke up with a bounty on his head this morning. Total carebear, no reason. He was pissed, so he started putting bounties at random on other players. Stupid.

Question: how does he take them off? I've right-clicked everything I can find in the bounty office, but cannot find a way to reverse the bounty.

The only way i know how is to keep killing the character to complete the bounty... I don't think it CAN be removed or reversed without killing the person with the bounty, and keep in mind you'll only receive a percentage of the amount based on a percentage of the total assets that the person with the bounty lost (I believe). So, in order to COMPLETELY remove the bounty, you may have to kill your alt several times.

I appreciate the info. But how about the question of removing a bounty? Can the pilot who placed the bounty retract it in some way? I assumed that was possible, but I cannot find a way to do it.

Ah sorry. I misunderstood your question. Unfortunately I'm not sure. I can test this later on my alt and will let you know.

I will remove bounties for free. All you have to do is message me in game and have your capsule ready.

1) why would you assume that? that's NEVER been an option, and would not be a very good one, even if you didn't get the isk back, or a portion of it, idk, perhaps. but this random mass bounties on people is lame, especially carebare peeps, not really a big deal if you don't provoke, since no one can RDM you without a flag.

and why do you want to remove them, did someone make you mad and you put way too much on their head? j/w

Bounties on inactive accounts will be removed. So unsubbing that account for a while should do the trick.
To do it right you'd have to look into the exact number of weeks/months though...

How to remove bounty in 3 easy steps:
1) eject from your current ship.
2) plug in expensive implants
3) jump into rancer with pod and wait

I'll take 2 carebears to go, with extra tears

My corporation offers a bounty removal service. For a small fee, lets say 10% of the bounty, we will remove any unwanted bounty that you may be carrying. For small bounties we may require you to travel to our home system in Curse, but if the bounty is large enough we would be willing to meet you in a low or nullsec system close to your location. Contact me in game for details.Smile

Bounty sucks......, it again a tool against indy.

The only way to remove it it's to die, a bit easy....again....

We should have the right to buy back the bounty from CONCORD.

When you do nothing to desserve it. Its annoying to play with nothing against that.

Thanks CCP again an idea with one way and no second thought.
I wonder if I am not going to play some other game.

I love all the carebear tears on how bounties are making their life miserable!

Like it give people free reign to shoot them.....guess what it doesn't!

Get over it and accet that the wanted tag is a fack of high sec carebear land. Low sec pvper's don't give a damn about bounties other then hey are a small extra gained when you blast someone. Twisted

I think the OP is looking for support for his latest scam
so he can put bounties on a random player and then charge them to remove it
something i would never do .......

Unfortunatly CCP foucked up again with Bounty system.

What ive noticed is that every fleet member recieves its part of bounty ( 20% of victim loss value ) so all you need is to pack in fleet enough people or alts and get yourself killed. ( 5 alts is 100% loss value payed from bounty pool so 6 alts is actually profit ).

Shame on you CCP your system is exploitable again!!

Sometimes I like to sit in Jita local, recruitment, help, eve radio, mining channel, and a few others doing nothing except putting 100k bounties on everyone who doesn't already have one.

If they were super new, I made it 1-5mil just to have some extra scare factor. I regret this now, as my inbox is constantly filled with kill notifications of newbs

ah, sorry, no what am I saying the bounty feature I enjoy.

It has its problems, but really how could you perfect it? the old system, there was nothing stopping someone from taking an alt and just podding their own toon, they then got all the bounty.,

at least now, the only way to get your own bounty is to kill your self with more than a 80% loss in isk.

it is kind of annoying to get a hundred msg, but its ok, they go to a dif notification section so you can ignore them unless you have blink on then it will always blink, for me its not a huge deal.

one more annoying thing is that if you are normally a decent person, or whatever, that one person is a noob and arguing or something and does what OP did and puts one or 2 extra zeros on the bounty then your stuck with a big enough bounty that someone may gank you, and make you a viable target, all cus some moron didn't like the price you were asking for an item that was already below market value lol.

I speak from experience on that last one.

I have a 500mil bounty cus a moron thought I was over charging for something only to fin out it was a great deal, and now im suck with it lol.
