Does the RSD with targeting range script cut targeting range by 50%? What about a second RSD?

Looked up...saw this F***ING clown dropping like a rock.  Woke up in Vylade wondering what just happened!!!

depends on your skill and if you get ship skill boosts.

the maulus is a sensor damp boat. with max skills and no ewar rigs it has a 58.4% target lock range reduction

the second is the same but gets a stacking pen.

i think it is reduced to around 49%

also it is 49% of what was left
for exame 100km base turns into 41.6km. then you reduce that by 49% to around 22km

each sensor damp gets more and more stack pen. around the 4th its almost not worth it. def not worth a 5th or more

Also, I have found that the best damp ship is the hookbill. Go figure!

Fit LML's, dual damps, a point and an mwd and you too can point any ship and not get shot at by it.

I even now have signal amps on some of my fits they are that bloody common heh.

Not a bad fit, the major issue i find with Sensor Damp "tanks" is that you pretty much cant warp into a plex that already has a WT....ive been doing it anyways to try and get better but....you cant pull range fast enough before they lock/scam/web ya

And the only chance of getting away is to hit the MWD< and well then..... your sig blows up so much your insta locked

I was thinking about maybe using 1 Scan Rez script and one Lock Range script if "attacking" a WT in a plex and most likely on the button already.....but im not sure it would have much effect with the MWD bloom

Great thing is its a cheap setup so, got plenty to use up and test it out

Edit: Did some numbers on PyFa, think I will try out the 1 scan damp, 1 range damp, if jumping into a Plex with a WT

A thrasher with X2 Range Damps has a 7km lock range, but if sitting at the button (like an AC thrasher) ill be around 2km when jumping in, No MWD is 520 m/s, takes him 3.1 s to lock me, not gonna make it
With MWD he insta locks me, scam and im dead

But a Thrasher with X1 Range and X1 Scan Res its a 14km lock range, and 3.7s to lock my frig with its MWD on, enough to get out of lock range, at least out of scam range, hopefully

Either way its really risky and most likely best to only enter empty plexs, or have a friend enter first

The base amount of dampening depends on the type of SD you use, the ship you're in, and your skill levels.

Some sample numbers using all level V skills and a dampener with a range disruption script:

  • T1 damp on an unbonused ship: -38%
  • T2 damp on an unbonused ship: -42.5%
  • T1 damp on a 7.5%/level bonused ship: -52.3%
  • T2 damp on a 7.5%/level bonused ship: -58.4%

Of course, there are meta levels between those, but you get the idea. I would suggest using some sort of fitting tool to predict how a certain ship will perform with damps.

So far as stacking, damps are affected by stacking penalty as other percent-based ewar effects are (excepting jams and neuts). In essence, the more effects of the same type you "stack" on one target, the less effective each subsequent application will be. The rule of thumb usually used is that more than 3 "stacks" diminish the effect so much that it is impractical using more. You can read up more on this here or here, or stick it into Google and find more info yourself.

Overheat before getting in.
If enemy is sitting at exit, spam max throttle and mwd as you get out of warp.
If enemy is sitting at a distance from exit, spam keep at range and mwd as you get out of warp.
Enemy scram will land as you get 6-7k range.
Keep spamming mwd.
Your residual speed will take you out of scram range. Your MWD will activate
Enjoy your kill since not many people bother to fit against damps. (Should change soon)
