Cruiser 1v1's what do?

What is the best place to go to get 1v1 fights in ships other than frigates? I roamed around lowsec with my caracal for ahwhile looking for equivalent sized ships to fight in my caracal. Found a rupture, shot it a SFI dropped on me and I died. : (

Me being a terrible pilot I know not how to find targets, I tried nullsec and its empty or everyone has a falcon alt, low sec is mostly frigates and I get bored easily searching. What do you guys do?

Just roam a lot, eventually you learn how to find fights.

You want speed, affordability, flexibility and gank in one package? Stabber Fleet Issue. 2(Nano+Gyro+Tracking Enhancer), Shield Tank+Cursory Tackle in the mids, 425s or 220s in the highs.

Speed around like motherfucking road runner ganking people at 25K with barrage.


Failing that, 1600 plate+220 fit it, full tackle in the mids, latch onto frigfags, shut them down and laugh as their ships disintegrate.

Your Caracal should be going at about 2km/s. You absolutly need to use that speed to dictate the engagement range.

You found a Rupture on a gate right ? If it's at 0 on a gate, there is no way you can get him. Jump through, check what's on the other side.

Is there a Stabber fleet Issue ? Great ! Decloack, burn off the gate with your overloaded MWD. Now check what happens. Is the Stabber fleet following you ? If so, keep at least 20km between you and him, and start owning with Rage ammo.

The damage you'll receive from its guns should be pretty low. I'm pretty sure you won't be able to kill the SFI because it's armor/active tanked all the time but that's how I would have done it.

RvB. That's the answer to that question. Whether you want to commit to joining RvB is another matter, but if you want 1v1's, that's the best place to get them.

Warp to him, he was 20km away, I had my MWD on and I wasn't aligned to anything with the stabber showed up warping to 0 of the rupture, no way I could escape.

Where I am as well (amarr fw) I do not see many cruisers roaming around. Almost all frigates and dessies.

I think this is just because people are trying out the new destroyers. People should start flying more cruisers after a week or 2.

RvB, FW, etc... I'm sure anyone outside the big hub stations (Amarr, Jita, Hek, etc) are more than willing to gang up on you if you're looking for a fight in a cruiser. Pirate

Use low sec plexes to controll engagements, avoid fights on stargates if possible, its generally more risky.

During a fight keep up a short range scan, just knock one or two digits off the end of your scan



Caracal + hams + faction/javelin = win.

EDIT: If its not clear i'm saying you should kite ruptures all day long with a kiting HAM caracal..

And put a TD on it.

Confirming Commander Ted is a nub at PVP.

My advice, Ted, may be to seek out the Tuskers. Join their pub channel. They always (99%) honour prearranged 1 vs 1 fights. Heretics have a good rep, too, though sometimes it is a bit spotty and, since they will do their duelling top belt in Amamake, you're always at risk of having randoms turn up.

Or, you can come down Metro way and swap cans with Minnie FW people like Horak Thor, etc. Though, be warned, a lot of them have pretty implants so you need to take that into consideration.

As ex-minmatar militia I can tell you these are all lies, e. g. Horak Thor do not even undock without booster alts, it is theoretically impossible to get a 1 vs 1 out of him. Also please note how "trinkets friend" is a pathological liar.

Do can flipping in highsec for 1v1s. Due recent changes it might be trickier but still possible. You can't imagine how many idiots you can kill.

If Im on and I have something fit in my hangar I'll also 1v1. I usually keep lots of frigates but I do have a couple cruisers...if I havn't already had them detonated around my ears....
