I wonder where these 'conspiracy theory' types come from?

Although this will most likely start some sort of flame war, that isn't my intention, really.

Anyways, I wonder why everytime there is some major group, everyone assumes CCP is in some sort of secret alliance with them? I hear alot more these days about CCP-Goon, back in the day it was CCP-BoB, sometimes seemingly founded, sometimes seemingly not. But why does everyone assume any Alliance or Group doing good and going strong must be in collusion with CCP, like some sort of Illuminati conspiracy? Is it just nature to assume that someone doing good must be getting help from on-high?

Conspiracies exist because they are true, obviously.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Because it's so much easier than to admit that they've been beaten by those n00bs — because that could obviously never happen without dev intervention.

Most (if not all) conspiracy theorists have no concrete basis to found their claims, but to give them some credit can be hilarious to read in the forums :)

It is partially because of a developer misconduct back in the day that actually benefited BOB. That was pretty much internally sorted out by CCP and I doubt its going to happen again. However like some others have stated its alot easier to think that CCP is helping the current most successful alliance than to admit your alliance sucks. Other than that...people are drawn to the unknown and murky. Look how many RL conspiracy theories there are from Abraham Lincoln to the Bohemian Grove. You can't expect them to be any diffrent in a MMO...

You only care because you feel there's some truth to it.

We're skillless noobs who only win by blobbing titans.

Well some employees of CCP come from the game and large alliances.

There has been the case of t20 and BoB.

Some basic information about their "internal security" can be found here:

I'm pretty sure that Devs care more about their jobs (which feed their families) than helping people win at internet spaceships.

From their mammas of course. Do I need to spell out about the birds and the bees?

I think you are confusing the meaning of good. What you really mean is being successful.

It's a conspiracy because in the past it has been proven true. It doesn't mean it is happening now, but people will bring it up because it has precedent. It's also a way of poking at the big guys; and likely not with any real belief that it is happening.

Either way, it is a possibility, though a limited one. What is really happening is more likely that players in these big groups are manipulating the Devs into doing things in their favor through feedback and suggestions. This happens all the time, although I think much of it doesn't get through.

The stuff that isn't predicted as an outcome of a particular change that seems favorable to game play will likely happen, but often I think some of these 'big guys' will do thing in favor of other groups without realizing it, or possibly even intentionally. It has happened a few times in the past couple years. Not to say they don't also potentially benefit from it.

Thing is, speculation always leads to conspiracy theory, and all we can do is speculate. ..I've gotten something like 12 likes while writing this reply; that seems very odd to me. Who is Fluffy Dice? Lol

Yeah next we'll work on the freighters. After the mining barge/exhumer EHP buffs, anything is possible !

Probably a script to like everyone, like Destination Skillqueue was using.

You see, teh gewns want to put all PVE players and hi seccers into concentration / re-education camps called "Gooncademy". BoB was actually a secret shadow alliance of teh gewnz and was a sock puppet the gewns used to control nullsec politics while pretending to be victims. Finally Malaku and Mittani are actually the same person. Goons own -A-, why do you think they dropped all their sov?

It happened in the past and EVE is not a game famous for it's trusting community.

EVE has a lot of what folks call meta gaming - meaning scamming, lying, breaking your word, dishonesty and general lack of honorable behavior. It is designed this way.

Just think what kind of minds put such a world together to enable the game play and how far you'd be willing to trust that kind of "intelligence" - trust tends to be a 4 letter word here.

Once they broke trust, it became damned difficult to reestablish it - even years after an incident happened - it still boils down to a well deserved lack of trust due to the nature of what they designed.

Also - Just because you may be paranoid doesn't mean *they* aren't after you.

It's called "highsec" and CONCORD are the camp guards.
