Well I don't quite agree with the way kill rights are handed either.

Currently lowsec pirates can blackmail you, destroy your ship, leave your pod intact and return to hisec like nothing happened = I can kill you in alley, steal your wallet and next day come brag about it to your local corner bar.

In hisec if someone steals 1 trit from jetcan other guy gets tradeable kill right = I steal cookie from you and your army shoot me into head 25 days later for doing that.

These combined with the post I made few rows up about free for all kill right activations.... well u get the point.

It would be better so, that in hisec only actions which cause concord intervention would yield tradeable kill right which you can sell forward to bounty hunters. Smaller crime than that would only turn aggressor red to your fleet/corp for 15 mins or so.

In lowsec tradeable kill right would yield from ship kill, but not from shooting someones ship. This would fix it so, that if pirates ransom you and let you go, you don't get tradeable kill right. However if they shoot your ship dead (even after you paid your ransoms) u get it.

I recently tried an experiment in killright farming (purely for the benefit of science of course).I sent an alt podding thru lo sec.How hard is it to get podded?Well, not very, the tricky part was getting podded by those who aren't already flashy red.Only a few obliged, but I was mostly ignored or even convo'ed by some concerned about my apparent idiocy.Of the few non-pirate killrights I did collect none have yet been activated,In essence a waste of time.I think 5/O got it right this time.

Just fyi. You dont get kill rights for stealing from a can. You just go suspect and everyone and their moms can kill you for 15 min.

Also killrights dont effect people who live in low and null just high.

Just sayin

It's amazing how every new feature of EVE can be abused as new type of scam.
It would be a horribly poorly implemented feature if it couldn't.

Maybe I am too deep into software testing and design ... but EVE doesn't feel like a very good implemented/designed/tested piece of software to me. Looks more like a rag rug to me. But hey ... I quit paying for this and just wait for the end of my account to come :)

Haha. You really think that the potential for scamming in EVE is a bug?

This process requires someone to make a stupid decision and give you ISK. That makes this a new scam and not a problem.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Yep, this is what will separate the amateurs from the professionals.
Blindly activating a kill right without first considering the cost and the immediate circumstances can cost you a LOT of ISK.... while correctly evaluating the situation can get you some very sweet kills.

Wow.... when I left the game a year ago this forum was full of whining about how suicide ganking exhumers was too easy and risk free. I come back and now there's an extra tanky exhumer, and a bounty/kill-right system that only functions if someone suicide ganks you in high-sec. And now people are whining that the kill-right system is too easy to game? What about the odd absence of exhumer pilots crying about getting suicide ganked? Seems like the problem was handily solved.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.
