I wanted to say something to the Capsuleer Community as the end of year approached but, given the current climate, I wanted to make sure that it couldn't be misinterpreted, so I ran a request through Wiyrkomi Legal for some unambiguous language.

The party of the first part, henceforth known as "Pieter Tuulinen", would like to wish the party of the second part, henceforth known as "The Capsuleers of New Eden"; without any assumption of liability on Pieter Tuulinen's part, a reasonably Merry end of year celebration (or any appropriate ethnic variant thereof) and, pursuant to the avoidance of any doubt, a Happy 12 (twelve) months from the date hereof.

Doesn't that warm your heart?

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

How very cheerful of you, sir! This entity in membership of and in no way representing the party of the second part would like to wish the party of the first part an amount of good tidings up to an equivalent value as was issued immediately previous to this statement as determined by the Secure Exchange Commission.

....

Happy Solstice ya cheeky dolt!

The above statement by the entity partially representing the party of the second part ("Streya Jormagdnir") is in no way, shape, or form intended as an insult or overly flirtatious remark, nor is the party of the first part ("Pieter Tuullinen") obligated to reciprocate payouts of equal magnitude as delivered by the aforementioned entity. Upon signature of this contract, well-wishes are to be paid out for exactly one (1) standard calender year as defined by the Yulai Conventions.

I am also a human, straggling between the present world... and our future. I am a regulator, a coordinator, one who is meant to guide the way.

The party of the first part would like to assure the party of the second part that exchange of feelings has been accepted in principle.

The party of the first part wishes it to be generally known that he enters freely into an equivalent exchange of well-wishing with the party of the second part, subject to terms and conditions, applicable local regulations to be followed, warranty void in certain jurisdictions.

******* lawyers.

Spread cheer and happiness to the cluster, not affidavits and injunctions. And the first part is optional.

Meh.

I just got done reading Saede Riordan's public musings that amounted to nothing, so I was in a bitchy mood and this topic got the brunt of it.

Still, how hard is it to say something along the lines of "in the spirit of the festivities, have a happy week", or something like that? Why so formal all of the time?

Normally I'd have Amber write something up that continues the running joke, but shes off at her family home having dinner for some Gallentean thing. I think it's a winter party.

Happy new year Pieter and the rest of the capsuleer community, I hope your lives are full of prosperity and joy unless I don't like you then I hope you have a good life and are happy but stub your toe on the kitchen bench allot.

That's the joke.*

*The above statement by the entity partially representing the party of the second part ("Verin Hakatain") is in no way, shape, or form intended as an authoritative statement concerning the release by the party of the first part ("Pieter Tuulinen") and instead represents only "Verin Hakatain"'s personal interpretation of the party of the first part's release, message and wishes.

Furthermore, the party of the second part wishes to reciprocate the wishes of the party of the first part without obligation, without assumption of liability, and without plagiarism

Actually, my heart is rather warmed and humored by your legally extricated sentiment. Let me reciprocate with "Happy New Year to all."

On the serious side: Never more have we needed to wish each other of all nations, peoples, religions, etc. "Peace to you this coming year." May this be a year when wars end, when children are safe, fed, clothed and happy. May this be a year where all may live in security and without fear. May we all strive to do our part to make it so.

The Disciples of Ston bid you peace

Ston, as always, you do not understand what you ask for.

However, if it makes you feel better, I and my friends in the True Slave Foundations are working towards making a universe without war, where all children are safe, fed, clothed, and happy, where all may live in perfect security and without even the knowledge of fear.

And we do this every single day, without tiring, without wavering in our conviction.

You're welcome!

There will always be war. The sooner we all accept it as a fact of the human condition, and try to enjoy the good times we have with that understanding, the better.
