Need some advice on ship direction

I have to be honest for the most part of my EVE experience on this character I have been a ship spinner, mostly because every time I try and play real life likes to take any spare time I try and find. With that said I am wanting to come back to eve and get some more experience in...well...everything. I am mainly interested in PvE and PvP and what ship choices I should make. Right now I am thinking about focusing on frigate based ships like interceptors but i honestly don't know how wanted they are in fleets or if I should aim for something else.

That is my skill list, I admit I am pretty all over the board. I was caldari for pve when i first started EVE then I like gallente and wanted to go that route for PvP but I am not sure if that's a good idea. I still kind of do but I am offput by how "bad" gallente seems to be at everything. Granted that is just what I see on forums and chats and forum talk isn't always how things truthfully are so I have no idea if I should stick down the gallente path or continue down my minmatar path I am currently doing (working on frigate skills now).

Basically what I am looking for is some advice on the different class ships because I have searched and got a decent idea but nothing that really I am looking for which is why I am asking. Also if I should work on any core skills I may have accidentally missed.

Any advice is appreciated! Even if it makes me cry :(

Thanks

Here is a link to the Eve University Class Library.

http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/EVE_University_Class_Library#Amarr

There is a section that discusses the different races and there strengths.

There is also pvp lectures.
