Hi,

My Eve worked all fine last night. This afternoon it doesn't. I haven't done anything to the mac since last time it worked.

The launcher starts and is happy. I press "Play". The launcher goes away. Nothing more happens.

Technically, the launcher log states everything is fine (as far as I can gather, see below) and the cider process is running (see below). I've compared the log with the log from previous days, and they seem roughly similar.

The EVE login screen never appears.

I've tried to delete the common.ini file (Applications/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/CCP/EVE) and I've tried deleting the cache (Applications/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/cache). The launcher comes up nicely in both cases and I can press "Play" in both cases, but it didn't solve my problem.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any good ideas on a fix?

Thanks beforehand.

Hello

As a mac user I have experienced the occasional quirkiness, a lot of answers can be found here in the Mac forums and I encourage people to continue to seek information and post issues. Also if you have submitted a bug report great! If not here is a link to get you started. https://bugs.eveonline.com/login.asp?t=%2FDefault.asp%3F&rc=1

Every time I have had this issue a complete restart has fixed the issue most of the time. The times that it did not, I have used TimeMachine to restore my EVE application support folder and this seems to work for the other times. Hope you get it sorted.

Just to let you know, i get the exact same problem (launcher, click play, then nothing) on my brand new mac mini... i installed and reinstalled EvE and it never worked.

At first i thought it was a problem with the gfx card, but i saw people do play eve on mac minis so i really don't know where this is coming from. That'll teach me for trying to play at work T_T

Same thing is Happening to me. I start the launcher, click play and go nowhere. On a 2010 iMac that used to play eve ok, but I just did a fresh instal to start playing again, but doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Same thing for me, but with the addition of a black screen and the eve cursor, nothing else. At least I can still tab out. I was just about to reinstall everything until I read this post.

Never mind, I fixed my issue by clearing the "client data" and "specific client settings" multiple times before I started it. Seems to have fixed the issue and everything boots up normally.

FYI

If looking to clear cache data for the Mac client manually, the info on how to do this has been updated slightly.

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Clearing_the_cache_and_settings#Out-of-game_.28Macintosh.29

Main thing to note is that for OSX 10.7 and 10.8 the library folder Is hidden by default, but instructions are there.

For those of you who have cleared cache data within the EVE app, you might want to give this a go. Even reinstalling EVE does not clear this data, so worth giving this a try..

Good luck

Same here, but after trying for like 5 times and waited a bit longer everything went to normal again. No cache clearing or similar.
