Working fine for me, iPhone 4 iOS 6, Mobile Safari.

Are you using the same network? If you are using the phone network, there might be an issue with the provider's transparent proxy. Wait an hour and try again. Otherwise, no idea.

Maybe you should switch to Android that is generations over iOS. iOS is just from the stone age. It pretty much just sucks today.

Anyways. On Android, do this.

1. Install Firefox.

2. Open Firefox on your phone.

3. Install the extension 'Phony' via Firefox on your phone.

4. Restart Firefox after the 'Phony' extension is installed (if needed).

5. Open Firefox again if you have to open it.

6. Go to https://forums.eveonline.com.

7. When the page has loaded, then click on the menu button and then press the 'Phony' botton.

8. Choose 'Desktop Firefox'.

9. Let the webpage reload.

10. Now you can log in with your account on the EVE forum to post.Iknow this works, because i just did this.

11. Problems?

12. Profit?

Once you have set the extension to 'Desktop Firefox', it will stay there until you change it back to 'Default'.

So again, Android -> iOS any days.

EDIT: I use a Samsung Galaxy Note with Android 4.1.2.

The forums have a lot of compatibility issues with tablets and phones. I tried to write a mail through a tablet and every time i touched the subject line it let me write a subject. But, every time I touched the text box, it wouldn't recognize it as a text field.

Edit: Same goes with the forums.

If you follow my steps in my post over, you wont have ANY issues on any Android devices. But on iOS on the other hand is................ well, freaking dumb for the most part.

Remember that those 12 steps gets cutted down to 3 steps after you have done those 12 steps the first time.

Or you could just remember the username and password the first time you log into the EVE forum and then just save a bookmark of the EVE forum on your home screen, witch basicly makes it down to 1 step.

So still 3 more than necessary, and it's still silly that the Google OS has such issues with Google code.

So anyway, pff. Real UNIX > fake UNIX. Blink

At least you can browse like a pro (like a normal Firefox on a computer) on websites with Firefox for Android and other Android browsers.

Witch makes the whole web experience tons better on a phone like a Samsung Galaxy Note (that have 1280x800 in resolution) over any iOS devices.

…much like how you can browse like a normal Safari user on iOS devices (and at 2048×1536 resolution).

And Firefox is a horrid and obsolete old mess of a browser anyway. It has become the Nestcape it was intended to solve. Cry

I'm not sure how the Android vs World holy war is helping the discussion of why the forums aren't working on the OP's iPhone.

Has Aston Martin DB5 sorted his issues out?

Can you use flash on your iOS device?

Can you surf on the internet on REAL web pages (not mobile optimized web pages sized for your mobile device)?

You can ofc surf normally on web pages that doesn't have a mobile web page. But tons of web pages have mobile pages today. And it's just getting more and more of it.

Can you install extensions on Safari?

Nope, Safari isn't even close to be a good web experience compared to Firefox or Dolphin Browser on Android.

EDIT: Dolphin Browser for Android is the best browser when it comes to speed and performance. Yes it supports extensions to. But the only reason i'm using Firefox for Android is because i can sync all of my bookmarks on my Desktop Firefox right to my Android Firefox.

I prefer not to on a desktop, and there's no need to.

Of course. iOS was the OS that made the whole idea of mobile sites slowly become obsolete (of course, Opera did it first, as always, but it didn't quite have the reach of iOS and Safari).

Quote:

To do what, exactly? Again, I don't need any extensions on my desktop either (except maybe in Chrome, since it's so bare-bones in terms of settings out of the gate), and I definitely do not need the catastrophe that is today's Firefox.

…you mean like every other browser? So?

So yes, Safari is a good web experience. Granted, Opera is even better for all the usual reasons, but at least we're talking about two modern browsers with those two rather than an obsolete one. Blink

Around 80% of the internet contains with flash materials. So why wouldn't you need that?

Wouldn't it just be good to have the option to decide yourself if you want to use flash or not?

If you don't like flash, no one is forcing you to use it. Do like me and make flash content appear if i press on the flash object. Or you can choose to have flash totally off, or just use flash all the time.

Freedom is alpha omega.

And if you comes over a web page that have a mobile page, it will automaticly move you over to the mobile site with Safari. You have no options to stop that from happening. And this makes the web experience horrible.

Because 99% of it is ads and tracking software that uses the Flash cache to circumvent cookie blocking, and the rest is available in better formats. I can't actually think of the last time I needed flash for anything, it's so long ago.

In fact, here too I have to say that it's been so long ago since i came across a mobile site that I can't think of the last time I needed to actually do that. So the effect on your browsing is roughly zero.

I see the benefits. I just use browser that don't need them (mostly… I install flash blockers on everything that doesn't have it built in).

Hmm, to me it seems that you don't see the benefits of having the ability to use extensions. I can name 'AdBlock Plus (yes, ads is not just in flash you know)', 'Stylish', 'Phony' and Always Zoom (it's to let you zoom in on pages that don't allow you to zoom on their web pages).

So there is alot of good things with extension support.

…and anyway, my choice of browsers is Opera > Chrome > Safari, and on both iOS and on Android, the funny thing is that it's Chrome that has the most kinds of problems like the OP describes since so many people use the same code base. Exactly why the big G don't like their own code remains to be seen. Lol

If ads is a problem for you (it's a problem in Safari to, because alot of ads are in pictures and gifs), then you can install AdBlock Pro in Android and you can still surf without the annoying ads. And when it's about the flash contents, then you can simply make Firefox or Dolphin Browser to make you press the flash content you want to see rather than seing it all. Witch makes it a huge advantage over not having the flash ability.

That doesn't always works i'm afraid. It's more user friendly to just launch the web browser and surf like a Desktop Firefox or any other web browsers right away.

And by installing flash blockers, you see the benefits of having extensions. Without extensions on iOS, you will always see ads in pictures witch makes the experience not so good. It's better on Android because you can actually remove the ads totally by using just one extension if you want.

Opera Mini on iOS is not even a fullworty web browser lol.

You don't get a good web experience there compared to the experience you get with Dolphin Browser on Android.

No, I just see incomplete browsers, and again, the one I use don't need any extentions.

Quote:

LMAO No. If we're talking anything, then Opera beats them all, simply due to integration and feature set — most of all Firefox which is so antedeluvian at this point that it probably falls behind IE.

Quote:

It does everything it needs to do. So sure it is.

Quote:

It exists and it works. But on iOS, I'd say that the relationship is the reverse as long as you don't have to use google's codebase, in which case Chrome loses a lot. Firefox isn't even a contender, nor has it really been on the desktop for many years now. Granted, I haven't looked at it since it (as the only program ever) managed to kernel-panic my media computer two years ago so they might have improved, but short of a NS→Fx-style hack-and-slash rewrite, I seriously doubt it.
