i enjoy being alive and am in rush to see it end, no matter how dire circumstances may seem. lol

They say it only takes 20 days for a normal person to revert back their animal instincts

Sure, if they've experienced it before... I say an average person would crack after 7 Straight

I went 5 my first time (in training) before I started arguing with a bush

Who won?

Something tells me the bush won, hands down.

I would be surprised if me and my family lasted 7 days before we started doing what we needed to survive.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

you know what's funny about this thread...it's that until, relatively speaking, very recently...we all lived without a power grid lol. i'm sure we could do it again. get back to boiling water and cooking everything over a fire in our modern day equivalents of log cabins.

Well Whole house is on electric and I got 4 acres of trees and some food stocked up.

Bit of snow and civilization erm electric was cut off for 2 days solid a couple days back.
Probably something to do with them freaks south of me in califruitloopsville.

Cranked open the generator (plenty of fuel on hand) for life necessities...powered dildos, fridge freezer and ps3, water
pump etc.
Got the wood stove a stoving and butane powered cooking stove...hmm love that carbon monoxide !

Certainly pays to have a few things at hand in case of emergency and that includes firearms and adequate supply
of ammunition in case the obama phone crew quite literally come a calling. In fact they could be easily mistaken
for zombies with all that obama chanting and gimme gimme gimme.

Probably quite well weather wise. It very rarely snows here and the weather is usually mild in winter but scorching in summer. So tents would take care of living conditions.

The biggest issue would be water, the eastern mediterranean doent have the biggest water reserves known to man.

Food, in terms of game etc is also an issue but vegetables etc are abundant.

So if i managed to survive the massive war that would happen then it should not be too hard. But then again things can always get worse.

Our emergency disaster survival plan....

1. stockpile firearms and munitions
2. train family members in their proper use and maintenance
3. locate and identify people with stockpiles of supplies, but low ability of defense
4. become marauders
5. loot, ****, pillage till either dead or warlords

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

That's what a friend of a friend in the Fukushima tsunami said. For about three weeks, everybody was trying to get their lifestyle back, and failing. After that, they all just changed to fit into the circumstances.

I don't think you can breed horses fast enough to use as a food supply. And what do the horses eat?

He would obviously hunt partridge and snare rabbits and whatnot. Most likely have a garden or two as well for the vegetables, if you're a gun owner it ain't hard to bag a moose.

Difficult here. I live in North Wales.

It also helps that we know how to ride horses. All we need is something similar to how Mongols dressed.....

afaik the Mongol's made extensive use of thier horses
old horses become food & leather

they also had goats and some type of cow/yak thing

give your average city dweller a bunch of seed/seed root crops and they are still most likely going to starve
the particularly stupid ones will just eat the seeds
a very tiny few will actually manage to plant them the "right way up™"

Give us some animals, like chickens, cows, goats, horses, and we'll be fine. Grandparents had a ranch and I spent a lot of time there growing up.

Give me a seed, and I'm pretty clueless. But I can handle a rifle and handgun. Hence the reason we would become Marauders.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

Just grow spuds and get a couple of green houses for tomatoes etc. Its not rocket science. Sod stuff like asparagus which is way too iffy at the best of times.

Also while cows would be nice a beef cow is a lot of energy, so maybe have dairy cattle. And a lot of pigs as they can live off pretty much anything.

Mmmmmm.... pork, potatoes, and tomatoes. Then the chickens for eggs, and cows for milk. Sounds like a good start for breakfast.

The wife is working on learning about all that seed and planting and growing stuff. I hate gardening, but I would enjoy the building of a greenhouse part.

Still like the idea of becoming marauders, and setting up my wife as a major warlord. For some reason, that just gives me an endless fit of the giggles.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.
