Removing Filthy Plebians

So I found a fairly sellable wormhole the other day the only problem is that it is infected with seven plebians and their PoS. My corp is too lazy to get off their asses and bust down their PoS, so now I'm left with quite a dilemma. Could I sell the wormhole while they are there, hoping someone would find it worthwhile to simply remove them? Should I hire a corp to bash down their PoS (How much does it cost to get rid of a poorly configured Large PoS)? Should I merely grief them until they decide to leave?

In framing the problem you have highlighted the slution: quit your corp of flabby layabout pedobears and join a corp full of bloodthirsty savages.

They're a nully corp and the WH is on the otherside of the map atm. I don't particularly blame them, but I'm considering it. Heck, I might even start my own WH cleaning service. 1) Find occupied wormhole 2) Clean out occupants 3) Sell wormhole

Cleaning service is fine; I wouldn't try to sell with it occupied though; tends to give you a bad rep. If you're doing it with neutral alts that's your call :)

Doing that in sub c5 space is going to be gobsmackingly painful, and boring. Very very very boring.

And your potential customers might be rather sad when they find the ones you threw out move back in.

In short: If you are not able to conquer (aka clean and find) a wormhole for yourself, odds are you incapable of defending it.

Would have to suggest you post the wormhole sale information in the "Sell Orders" section to gauge interest. If it seems lucrative enough, then you'd probably be inclined to research your options in greater detail. Hiring merc's for POS removal can get expensive and it may not be worth the investment, and if your corp is "lazy", then you'd need to find friends willing to help you with the project.

Creating a "cleaning service" sounds interesting, and if you can get fights, I'd imagine there are plenty of wormhole dwellers in this sub-forum that would have no problem coming to support you, provided you have control of the static and a good entrance.

What you consider a tiny Corp of filthy plebeians might be an alt Corp of a pvp group. By all means, give it a go, but be aware there's a chance it could turn out to be a hornet's nest.

Bashing down even a porrly configures large pos is a massive pain in the ass, especially in anything under a c5. If you expect somewon to do it expect it to cost many billions. It would probably cost more than you can sell the wormhole for...

See, now you discover the barriers to entry into the lucrative world of Wormhole Cleaning Services Inc.! Thse are,

  • Laziness.
  • People prefer grinding their gonads against hands, wives, cacti. Each of these is more pleasurable than structure grind.
  • Boringness.
  • It takes 40 hours to get through a reinforcement timer. This requires 40 hours of coverage of the wormhole to lock out any rescue teams, which these days, can run into the realms of rapine and villanous bands of idiots who will come on the forum and attampt to smacktalk you because they brought 20, 40, 100 T3's to shoot your 10 man BC gang.
  • Lameness.
  • Faced with overwhelmingly dullness in their everyday lives, as they chain collapse and hope to strike it lucky with a lottery to get a fight, and being more blobby than a Mississippi swinger's party, if your targets do call on the batphone you will be blueballed hardcore by such batphone afficionados. You'll have wasted, lets say 6-8 hours sieging and incapping the POS and 40 hours camping it round the clock. If you screw it up just once and get a bad static spawn, you'll be drowning in bored people looking for "gf" and ruining it. Then you will have to pull out all your tricks to prevent being skull ******, and run away.
  • Bad ISK/hr rates.
  • If you succeed, you get to watch them SD ships or ninja-logoff just before DT and get no "gf" yourself. You then sell the hole for a meagre amount, lets say 1 billion, split between at least 12 toons/6 guys, for 48 hours solid work, that's 5M per hour. Or maybe some clown pays you 2 billion, and it's 10M per hour. 3 billion for a C3 Pulsar, if people are that stupid, and its a whopping 15M/hr. So you'd better be good at embezzling the lot and quitting your corp and not trashing your reputation, or its just not worth organising it.

Truth be told, w-space is clogging up with precious darlings and carebears and there won't be much in the way of fun to be had nor profits made from ejecting people from wormholes, ever. The only way you will make it worthwhile is to demonstrate ahead of time that your opponents are mentally deficient enough to actually fight when they are outnumbered massively, or will provide massive tears in Local to amuse everyone.

Good luck finding people insane and stupid enough to hump structure grind in w-space!

ive been in 2 wormhole mercenary groups over time, and at one point we did exactly this

basically, the isk is terrible. You need about 10 pilots for a medium pos, 15-20 for a large. assuming you dont have dreadnaughts. It takes 40+ hours to attack a pos, put in RF, wait for it to get out of RF and kill it.

Say you find a really nice wormhole and can sell it for 1b. with 10 people this means 100m a person, with 20 this is 5m a person. for 40 hours of work. If you want fights there are easier ways to get them.

In the end you will be spending loads of time in the most lucrative space there is and barely making any money. If you dont like bashing pos's, and noone likes that after the 2nd time, its a terrible way to make your isk. It takes a lot of time, and you cant afk bash because there can always be the 20-40 man t3 fleet behind the next k162 ready to pound your fleet of pos bashers to oblivion.

Actually....we did AFK bash a few POSs.

Step 1. We all created a bunch of alts in capstable depr geddons or sentry domis (preferred). We put them in to Vogon Demolitions, corp ticker F1AFK.
Step 2, find a POS where Numpty Corp LLC has forgot to set their gun aggro properly (fished out via velator alt warping to POS, then velator alt shooting gun; if velator alt survives both, pinata time!). Alternately, find a jamstar (small, large, medium, it doesn't matter) where they've got all ECM's, points and maybe a popgun or two.
Step 3, log in your alts and wrangle them into the hole. Warp them in to the POS, lock stick before any online ECM targets you, F1AFK. Leave to cook for 4-5 hours for a Large, and the POS is RFed.

We got jumped once, by Lead Farmers, who managed to derp up on the jamstar because, lololol, the thing had glitched and was no longer cycling jams, they weren't blue with the guys who we were attacking, so they warped in the raepfliet...and could do nothing. Our one guy who was online fleet warped the AFK domi ball away to our refuge POS.

So..technically you can AFK the reinforcement. You can even AFK the actual tower kill with the AFK alts, and let them get ganked. Sure, Geddons and Domis aren't 40M anymore, but they are still cheap.

step one) Get your friends to help you reinforce the POS.*

step two) publish connections, locus, reinforcement timer, and any other intel you have here on the forums.**

* Nobody likes reinforcing a POS, not even people who specialize in it.
** Everyone and their mother will be there when it comes out of reinforced.

step three) I'd say don't bother trying to sell it. You'll have to keep a scan alt in there for weeks/months until it is sold. And I get the impression it's not a very good w-space system anyways.

If you're really in the mood to try and sell it, make sure it's worth selling first.
  • Check planets and make sure they can produce most of the components needed for POS fuel.
  • Check the system radius. The smaller the better. Hunters love to hunt in systems where they can move off of d-scan and drop probes.
  • Make sure it's not a black hole, and doesn't have a crummy static.
  • If the inhabitants already have POCOs, it will be less desirable. Pulling down owned POCOs is slightly more fun than bashing a POS, which if you take a look at the fun spectrum (below) you will see is not very fun.

  • Fun Spectrum

    Less Fun < ==POS bash===POCOs==Suprise PVP===PI====Mining===Noctis chump====PVE====Scanning=========PVP== > More Fun

"when a ship is blown up, the pilot usually winds up replacing it. This drives the economy, steadies inflation, and gives industrialists a reason to manufacture. In contrast, creating isk while never losing any items has the unfortunate reverse effect on the market, plus it isn't really any fun." Jala

How anyone made a market of "selling" wormholes is beyond me. They are free, just go find one. The sellers have no more rights to them than anyone else.
