Moon goo shifting?

What if.....

Moon deposits degraded over time. Extraction hastens the effect.

To compensate (for balance), moon deposits "evolve". eg. Caesium becomes Technetium etc.

A constantly shifting resource would make for some interesting sov wars.

It would allow "Lil' Joey of corp X" to find himself in possession of a Tech Moon and "Big John from Corp Y" to suddenly be without one.

It'd be easy enough to wrap some "geological realism" if such was needed.

Discuss.....

you realize that there's a moon rebalance on the horizon, right?

Yes. You said that but without details, it's hard to know what's being done. You got any ideas you can share?

Regardless, I bet the moon goo won't be "redistributed by nature" like I am suggesting here.

Why do you want the alliance level logistics teams to commit suicide?

it's a horrible idea with the current horrible probing system

it also kills one of the only useful conflict drivers in EVE

That's BS.

Most of the Tech moons are in "safe" space as in it would require massive invasions to take and hold those moons. Sure they get SBU'd occasionally but you just blob them out and away you go again.

Taking them OUT of alliance strongholds and having them evolve ANYWHERE would make lazy alliances get off their fat isk rich asses and go LOOK and FIGHT for said moons. Having a fragmented tech moon economy will force you to MOVE AROUND.....

0.0 has become no more than an isk making comfort zone. This idea would require thought, innovation and you're blobs would have to WORK to keep your income.

THAT'S why it's a bad idea huh?

its also a horrifically stupid idea that has been thought of and rejected many, many times

its yet another problem you don't understand so you can't figure out solutions that aren't horrifically dumb

You don't get it do you. I don't care WHERE they are. I don't care WHO owns them either.

I'm suggesting that random tech moon locations will bring on more fights and fun instead of the 0.0 blox we're seeing now. Small alliances would have just as much chance of scoring a Tech as the next guy.

It would FORCE alliances to move if they want to keep the same numbers of moons. It would PROMOTE chasing all around Eve to find the moons and then setup before Alliance X got it.

0.0 is stalemated. Let's change the dynamic... You yourself even suggested that dropping them into WH's would be good fun - as long as CURRENT owners aren't affected yeah?

Psstt... Wanna know when something is a plausible idea? G**ns pay a visit - QUICK, STOP THAT MAN!!!!

they're in venal, where everyone and their mother knows where they are, and it's an npc region and it gets fights because everyone knows where the tech is, and anyone can move out to venal and try to make their fortune
