Hi,

i am doing Explorations and i want to know if there is da formular for calculating the signal strength of sites when using Core/combat scanner probes.

http://swiftandbitter.com/eve/dsp/ for an overview. At the bottom of the page is a link for each Sec of space to show you the signal strengths.

Yes, you can use core probs to sort out the signal strengths of sites. It's not as accurate (by any means) as using the deep space probes, but it can help find a specific site with a specific strength. Just experiment and be flexible.

the problem with this chart is, you cant set it up for core scanner probes directly. i allways scan with 4 probes in a square formation. so the signals are much higher and they only have 32AU scannrange which makes the signal also stranger.

Try this chart instead:

You can "calibrate" your results by scanning a sig down to see where it fits in the chart (see Signature Strength):
4 x probes at 32 AU in a scanning ship typically put a 1/10 sig at 4.8% or so

Yeah, you can. You just have to drop a single core instead of 4 for your initial scan. The deviation is a bit higher than it would be with a DSP but it works just fine.

Even with your usual probe setup - if you probe a lot, you should know what percentage is which band on which range setting.
