Hey everyone,

please dont abuse me or anything but im new to the forums.

My question is kind of strange so please bare with me.
As i have traveled Eve online, like many players do. Over the course of my travels i have been gifted many a rookie ship. Over the course of a month i built up a few of these. So i sold them. But when it came to the mining laser (civilian model) i couldnt do much with it. Selling it seems a bit of a waste.

Is it possible to be able to reprocess the civilian mining laser?

Or could it be a possible update in the future?

I would appreciate any input.

Thanks in advance,

er, if the 500 isk the mining laser is worth is important to you, you have entirely failed at EVE.

Why not?

But more seriously, just trash them, there not worth anything, you can by standard mining lasers for not much and there a lot better.

If this is how you talk to new people in EVE, you really should rather shut the **** up.

Well instead of only being able to sell the modules is there a way of reprocessing them for minerals???

That would be just a bit abusable, don't you think?

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Civ mining lasers are unlimited and free, people would create unlimited minerals with them.

It is not possible, and it is unlikely ever to become possible.
As others have pointed out the civilian weapon and mining laser on a rookie ship are producable for free and in unlimited quantities. If the ships, or the modules, were reprocessable then the result would be potentially infinite supplies of minerals.

This is not a good thing.

The rookie ships are designed to provide a method for a capsuleer reduced to penury to begin to rebuild, nothing more.

Yeah, I can see it too ... every time you repackage/assemble your noobship, you get a free Civilian Mining Laser and a free Civilian Gatling Gun ... if those were recyclables, an endless loop of repack/reassemble would give an endless loop of free minerals.

SOOOOO not wanted.

There are some people that buy them, I guess, since I was able to sell one (by mistake, misclicked the "trash it").

If people want to buy it, someone will collect and sell it. If someone's selling it, someone will buy it. Such is capitalism, especially in EVE.

I mean, frak, you can even make ISKies selling noobships. SELLING THEM.

so many space jerks here.

if the money gained from selling them is so low, why selling them in the first place? ask yourself why are people buying them. maybe they see them as a very remote future profit in the event item changes are done, maybe after one patch one CCP dev adds one too many zeroes to their reprocessing value, and enables the reprocessing on them, after a long night of work, and you can profit immensely from that error. maybe they get removed from the game like the old meta variants, some of wich today can go for over 20millon each.

considering EVERYONE trashes them, if they are removed from rookie ships tomorrow, something not at all unlikely given the changes to frigates, they could become rare overnight.

who knows, even the most remote possibilities can be considered since they have so little value today.
