Well just a quick update before I go to sleep for a little while:
I received 4 more ships and some Nice BPCs from one guy

and the total number of Gifts/prizes is up to 593

Now, we are looking into the possibility of a "Last man (or woman) Standing Battle" with the ships for the battle provided and the top 3 winners in the Battle being able to chose which of the pre-fit ships they want.


We still have a few minor logistical details to work out, but I'm certain we will be able to figure out something.
We are also looking into a trivia game and maybe even a treasure hunt.
More details to come as we get things sorted out

and info.
We've worked out the issue with the Battle and are assembling the ships for it now.
the Specifics are 5 of each race's Rookie ship totaling 20 ships.
Each ship is equipped with the following:

a DCU
a low slot damage mod specific to the Racial guns on the ship
2 x race specific guns (rookie guns Unless you want to mine your opponent to death?)
a Civilian AB
a Civilian SB
1 racial drone (specific to that ship)
1 unit of trit (we have to be able to let you get a suspect flag)

The way this will work is 5 random persons of each race will be invited to a fleet, each invitee will be given a couple of minutes to accept the invitation and if they don't another invite will be sent to another player.
Each person in the fleet (once 20 battlers are reached) will be asked to meet the wing and squad commanders at a specific station, once there each person will be given a fully fit rookie ship of their race.
When everyone is in their ship the fleet will undock and will be "Wing Warped" to a location for the Battle.

once at the location each pilot will drop fleet and eject the trit in their cargo hold and move to another can.

when ready, each pilot will loot the can so that every pilot gets a suspect flag and when the last pilot becomes suspect the order to begin the battle will be given. (do not fire early)

The Battle will be frapped to share later.

as the ships are destroyed, the pilots may either hang around and root for someone, or dock up if they wish.

The last three pilots will be given their choice of the pre-fit ships I have with first pick going to the winner, second to second place and third pick to third place.

The rules are simple:

1. Don't fleet up with your friends after the battle starts and have a gankfest, let's keep this fair and fun.

2. Under no circumstances pod kill another Battler, if you do you will be disqualified. (bring PvP clones just in case someone won't abide by the rules)

3. Have fun.

That's it, pretty basic, pretty easy.
The choice of ships are:
1 x Crow
1 x Raven
1 x Ashimu
1 x Retriever (i have 2 of these fit)
1 x Rifter (again 2 fit)
1 x Rupture (i have 2 of these fit)
1 x Myrmidon (old School fit)
1 x Hurricane (PVE fit)
1 x Drake (also PVE fit)
1 x Noctis (fully fit )


Short of CCP giving us a private area for the Battle, this is the best I could come up with, so I hope it works out as well as I hope :P

now added a fit Noctis to the prize/ship list and the total of gift-wrapped items is up to 735

Given the nature of the game, I take no offense to that at all and I wholeheartedly say... "Fair enough" on both counts.

It is my solid belief that one should always consider all possibilities in any sandbox type environment and then come to a decision that best suits them based on the available information.

Now, with that said and out of the way, I do hope you're able to join us Monday, but if not, Merry Christmas to you and yours and may you have a wonderful Holiday Season. :)


Just to bring the other side of the coin into the proper light:
yes, it would be possible for me to transfer everything off to an alt, biomass this character and keep the 2 or 3 billion in assets, but to be honest?, I'll get more enjoyment out of watching local as people talk about the gifts they get and knowing that I was able to do something nice for folks during the Christmas season with the help of my friends and those who have been so generous in their donations than i would out of a few shinies and some cash(isks)

My main is by no stretch of the imagination "Rich" according to in-game standards, but he does ok for himself and he got to where he is today in a large part due to the kindness and helpful teachings of others, so this is simply one of my ways of saying "Thank you" to everyone.

And what Better way to do it than under the anonymity of using such a well known figure as Santa?

ya im pretty sure i have the spirits stashed in a cubby hole somewhere =)

one of my favorite parts of the holidays are EVE "events" whether offcial or not so i will definately be making best effort to be there. i think ive successfully avoided the family for this round so the coast is clear

OK there's a slight change in the proceedure for the 20 ship Battle, a minor, but deemed necessary change to help ensure the safety of the fleet up until it's time to start the battle.
these changes will be shared with the fleet members at form-up.

And after some discussion with my helpers, the final system has been decided on, I will announce that in an update to this thread tomorrow night before I go to sleep.
