Guns don't kill people, access to them when your a nut job moron does.

Recently heard a report that the Chinese government in some area is requiring registration of bladed devices (knives, axes, machetes, etc) because nutjobs there have been using them in violent attacks more and more in the last year or so.

Whack jobs will kill you with a spork if that's all they have access to. It ain't about guns, and it ain't about vidya games.

SAdly guns are designed to kill people, whereas sporks are designed to have the mickey taken out of them.

What? Guns are designed to kill people? What BS. lol. Weapons are made for many reasons. Not just to kill people I assure you. Defense in any nature, maybe. But to self sustain. Food, etc,.

Actually I have it under good authority that guns were made to get kites out of trees

To each his own.

If you live in a country were you do not have the right to own a firearm then I would not expect you to understand the commitment behind defending that right.

Actually the 5.56mm is great for rabbit, mini guns are better for controlling the population of wild boars roaming the countryside and revolvers were made so that Clint Eastwood could say "Do you feel lucky, punk?"

Nobody dies in EVE. At least, not permanently. Unless there's a cloning accident...

Would you deprive me of the right to kill someone if it were necessary?
You did say guns are designed to kill people, not murder them. There's a pretty significant distinction there.

I wouldn't say eve is very graphically violent but it sure promotes stealing, backstabbing, pretty much anything thats morally wrong and/or could get you in trouble with the law.

Sounds like the culture with most banking houses / large corporations in the real world.

As above so below eh?

Also yesterday there was a brawl at a table tennis tournament in China.

Should we ban ping pong too?

So I am thinking that if a Ritalin-head nutjob played EvE instead of FPS games, he'd probably try to gate camp a highway exit with his car or something like that.

Maybe he'd pour some kind of slime all over the road to bubble people trying to get through.

As far as im concerned Eve actually helps you.

It teaches you

Patience
long term planning
Financial planning
logistics planning
Scheduling
An understanding of the production chain
learning not to trust strangers
Learning not to trust people you know
learning the ins and outs of large scale business management
cows are involved in space station construction

All positives if you ask me
