Jovian Disease ...really genetic?

I was pondering around the jovian disease and to me it sounds rather unlikely. Point is as long as there is access to older bodies, dead bodies even pre-jovian "fossils"they can extract the DNA and artificially use this as the replacement of the "infected" DNA. (Nowadays we could grow Homo sapiens neandertaliensis if we wanted to by extracting functional DNA and use this as replacement for human DNA.) This surely could mean, the older DNA has the abilities which modern Jove might view as too "animal-like" since older DNA can produce bodies able to reproduce due to sexual intercourse.

I was thinking of an alternative scenerio. Given the fact, implants are in heavily use, and Jove have a conflict with the Endhuanni, famous for using implants to control minds, inject visions and all the like, wouldn't it be also a possibility to inject "sudden death"? Are Jovians able to live without implants and if so would it mean putting the developement of this civilisation in a disadvantage knowledge-wise , so implants are more or less considered necessary to suvive as a civilisation but exposing the minds to external parties who are capable of interferring with their minds via implants and do so?

In this case, I'd presumed that Cognitive Collapse and Psychosis were sometimes interchangable.

I'll expand a little; Jove have Encyclopedia Galactica x 10 in historical account. Are grown in test tubes, and are "uploaded" into their identity rapidly.

Flesh and Neurons assimilate the data that would be homogenous when read on text and fail to comprehend that the information would require perpendicular and parallel writing in the neuron structure depending on experience.

It is said that when Jovians first encounter the Jovian disease the downfall can be quite rapid, on the other hand a Jovian might live for a long time before the disease sinks in.

Imagine a massive amount of dots interconnected on strings, shape it into a ball and roll it around on the floor. Now remove some of the dots in the middle and see if it rolls the same way.

The penalty that they have might be oversaturation. In the Inferno Chronicle the protagonist starts his mind-frenzy, halfway through he realises a situation in his partner that he had previously missed, it becomes incorporated into his legastic research and has a very profound climax.

If the jove were to find they knew it all, including several years in advance of their current timeline, they would be forced to submit on the grounds of futility. Literally they would only be able to fly around and interact with their predicted outcome, instead of having free-will and thought. That would carry out the same trait seen in most psychotics - The desire to break free from the script to live their own way, with little acceptance of the randomness of others. Isolating themselves, and satisfying the remainder of their lifetime their way, without bowing down.

I thank you for your input, Borascus. The downfall caused by the jovian disease is in fact rapid, considering the isolation Jovians are now in from a once mighty empire.

The sole reason of only DNA-related issues is not really conclusive to me. Whilst artificial AI and the control of it are domains of scientists throughout New Eden. Implants in additon serve as mindcontrolling devices i.e. in Amarr and also Sansha Nation. Jamyl recognized someone/something was manipulating her clone before she entered it (another interesting topic in which state one is to be not in a clone but still recognising something going on around...). So, if Endhuanni like in Theocricy mentioned are behind a lot of Events caused by "injected" visions, manipulating individuals via high sophisticated devices, this might serve as a much more valid threat.
I once read in a forum post that rogue drones have a security program which neutralizes any "abberation" drone trying to break free from the hive... this applied to the Jovians could mean that i.e. the denial or taboo of sexual reproduction which is a valid strategy to overcome DNA-related issues sustainably is something like a "security program". Cause cloning thousands in tubes or building up a hive... where is the substancial difference then? How can a sphisticated civilization be so blind not to see that monocultivated DNA is an evolutionary exposure to extinction and also to DNA-related "attacks".

I hope the one or other can make sense out of it.

The Jovian Disease is a primarily genetic disorder among the Jove that eventually results in psychological breakdowns and death.

The Jovian Disease has a quick onset. An individual may be healthy one day, only to show sudden signs. When the disease first strikes, however, is variable. An individual may live a hundred years before the symptoms manifest, while another may show them after only a few decades. The progression from one stage to the next can also vary, though once it reaches its final stages, death usually follows shortly after.

The more common form presents itself as a continual decline in mental health. In its initial stages, this can be only long bouts of mild apathy, an inability to concentrate on tasks, a loss of appetite, and poor mental focus. These symptoms progress to depression and mild dementia, with the individual unable to find purpose or joy. In its final stages, the afflicted is unable to perform any but the most basic tasks, believing any effort is pointless and wasted. In these stages, additional psychological disorders may arise, such as paranoia, psychopathy, or sociopathy. Finally, the Jove simply loses the will to live and will cease eating or drinking, eventually succumbing to dehydration

I tried to look outside of the box for the reason it had the same symptoms listed above. The Social Readjustment Rating Scale relies on research to draw conclusions as to the cause/onset of a mental illness.

Something like a Psychosis usually needs a trigger event - Dependancy is heavily linked to psychoses.

Might not work with the official line of EVE, but it's how it would work.
