To reassure all parties, I will make public the general procedure for neurological reconstruction we employ. The first step is a thorough examination and analysis of the current neurological state. Issues with proper functioning of the network are determined, including the viability of removing implants if those implants are obstructive. The solutions we aim for at this point are least-invasive-first and are directed towards returning the individual to a healthful state.

In this specific case. We will not remove any implant or device when in so doing it will irreparably impair the patient. In this case we will do what we are able to return the individual to health, though we are at this point unsure of how this will be done. Our primary concern is the well-being of the patient in a realistic sense.

They aren't even patients until people start pulling pieces out of them, Scherezad.

Until then, they are fully functioning members of a (granted, enemy) nation state. I can tell you that they will no more consent to the removal of their implants than someone would consent to the permanent removal of their ability to see.

I'd hoped that you, of all people, would understand this

now, granted, people are free to treat their enemy combatants as they wish. Feel free to experiment if you want, or to pull bits and pieces out, or to torture, or whatever else. That's up to you.

Don't pretend that you are "rescuing" these people and blaming the resultant issues on us, when its your removal of their implants which is causing the issues.

I'm sorry, Tiberious, I'm communicating poorly, as usual. I don't intend on pulling anything functional out of anyone. Mr. Muertas is talking about individuals who have had an incomplete conversion. It's LDRBC's goal to try to bring them back to health and happiness, or as close as we are able. I would like that those who have been irrevocably converted be returned to Nation, as there they will have an opportunity to find happiness and prosperity, but this is neither my decision nor place to say.

We will do what we can to help who we can. I don't think it's fair to ask anything more than that.

That is fair, yes. I was under the impression that the OP was intending to try to 'save' True Slaves (as if they needed saving, they are already saved) by ripping out their implants. Oh, and when we rip out the implants we notice they tend to go insane or fall into comas or die, and this is clearly another Nation Crime, etc.

I am accused of being long winded in my posts so I will answer you as quickly, but clearly a possible. I have no intention of taking your people, by this I mean Agents, True Slaves and so on. Leaving aside the fact that "saving" these people is not a viable scientific option at the moment, there is still the part of taking people against their will, all be it a will forced unto their own.
Secondly I have no planes of ever leading a raid into Placid against Sansha's followers, our mission is of rescue and deterent, not revenge and conquest.

When an Incursion by your Master is underway, we will come, with the goal of lose of life on either side being kept to a minimum, to stop the taking of people. All other goals that may be associated with those whom have a quarell with your Master and what you do may take up arms as they see fit, we are only concerned with the preservation of life and free will.

If you show up to an Incursion site you will be blown out of the sky if you attempt to stop Nation forces unless you come in war ships, not medical ships. Even as I input this post to the Summit I'm currently in the Metropolis region aiding a large Capsuleer force in the constant struggle against Nation Incursions. True Power's innovative technology puts us at a severe disadvantage traditionally and we're only succeeding due to tactical oversights by Nation. They only have their best Slaves manning these ships. They are single minded about their purpose.

Oh dear....

Do you really think that argument holds any water Tiberious?

We both know that the vast majority of them did not consent to having those implants put into their brains in the first place, so your transparent attempt to hold the moral high ground here has just fallen down around your feet.
perhaps for those few who did choose to join you it is not a rescue, but for the others, whose individuality and will to be free has been muted under layers of implanted cybernetics and machine code, it IS rescue.
If we can find a way to remove those implants safely, to give back to them what your nation stole from them, then we can rescue them from a fate worse than death.

Yes, i get that, once implanted, true slaves have no will to be free, but that is your nation raping the minds of millions to fuel one megalomaniac's twisted nightmare. We may not be able to fix the damage YOU have done, but trying to make out that we're the ones in the wrong for trying is a feeble argument, even by your standards.

so, long story short....

We're not 'pretending' that we are rescuing them and blaming the resultant issues on you.
We're blaming the issues on the fact that they were abducted by the millions and implanted in the first place.
It is nation that raped the people of this cluster, do not try to blame the resultant backlash upon those you assaulted.

Tiberious' entire point is that there is no way to remove the implants "safely". It's not a matter of removing excess material, but of removing material which replaces that which is no longer there.

Even assuming you leave all the tissue intact, removing the implants is to amputate half their brain. That doesn't "give them back" anything. It just leaves them with half a brain.

Unless you have a copy of their old brain lying about, or a neural scan, you really are out of luck. And if you do have either of those, rebooting them in a softclone is a far easier and less messy way to restore them than reinstalling them in their original shell would be.

Integration would be a more proper term, Natalcya. The original material is present, but the new material is seamlessly integrated into the old until it becomes as much a part of the brain as any totally biological component originally present. An addition, but not a layer. A complete and total reworking of how the brain works, away from the potential for breakdown present in any naturally evolved system, and into a better paradigm of function.

Essentially you are correct though. You can't then remove the implants and have the same thing left behind, anymore than you could remove someone's circulatory system and have the same thing left behind.

So, you admit that the technological mind **** of nation is permanent damage.
That is a start at least.

yet still you shy away from the truth that you forced yourselves upon millions, millions who did not ask for or condone your actions.
Then you have the sheer temerity to call foul when we try to undo the damage you have done to people.
You have the nerve to claim that they would 'never' have asked for the implants to be removed. which is simply put, a lie.

your argument, to any rational human mind, can only be boiled down to this :

"I stole it, now it's mine... I even wrote my name on it with a permanent marker, so you can't have your [insert item of great value here] back"

The sheer fact that i see seemingly rational people in this thread happy to go along with such utter lunacy is almost overwhelming.

Wake up people, don't let their flowery words blind you to their nature, they are abusive, vicious predators who want noting more than to force themselves on you in perhaps the most cruel and permanent manner possible.

I hope everyone is getting the "thou dost protest too much" sense from the Sansha Loyalists posting here. Basically they keep repeating "you can't help the abducted, so don't try." Do you really think dedicated scientists are going to stop trying just because you claim nothing can be done? The more you protest these noble, good, and right efforts, the clearer it becomes that it is highly likely the Sansha hold will be cracked and eventually defeated. Nothing motivates a good scientist like the words, "It can't be done."

There is nothing more a Sansha loyalist fears than the very idea that those they have stolen may be helped back to humanity. Don't expect anyone to roll over and play dead just because you say they should.

Kudos to Los Muertas and his vision to make this effort. I hope many will join you. I also hope there might be some small way I can help. Don't let the Sansha-bots convince you that nothing can be done. Make this effort and good people will join you.

I have always been disturbed by the plight of those abducted by the Nation, however I am well aware that there is little we can do once they have been "converted". Were I a more capable pilot, I would happily assist in the fight against the Nation but sadly all I can do is wish you all the best in your endeavour.

Nation is fighting a war. It is a war for its right to exist. It is a war it did not start. War is a terrible thing. We have never denied that.

Go and take a look at the ruins of Stain, Esoteria and Paragon Soul, and then ask yourself: Who forced themselves upon whom?

Nothing motivates idiots like that phrase, either. I think I can safely speak for all of us when I say we have no illusions that you won't try. It has, after all, been tried - unsuccessfully - for the past hundred years. Why break tradition?

Torture your prisoners, as we know you will. You've already managed to fool yourselves into believing that glassing three regions of space in an unprovoked war was noble, good and right. Why not torture?

I know that living in nullsec means I miss some things that go on with the lesser pilots and their squabbles, but when were three regions glassed?

Thank you for proving my point. A threat induced response if ever I have heard one. I see that emotion is not wired out of you Sansha-bots. "Torture your prisoners as we know you will"? Great response! With every post you give more impetus to the mission and purpose of the OP. Please keep it up. Also, your post does quite a good job in showing what you fear. "Idiot" and "Old man." Perhaps an "insult implant" would improve your creativity a bit.

Also: NUVOS is providing a small financial grant to Servant Brothers today. The amount is small, but I hope that more can be given as the work continues.

You know, i would tell you not to be so blind, but i doubt you actually get the choice.

The war began in reaction to the true slave creating experiments that your vaunted master had begun.
The war began due to the inhumane and utterly disgusting acts that your nation had taken.

The attack that you call the beginning of the war was a REACTION to those things.
Those very same things are happening again and still you play the wounded party.

Nation began this, before the events of YC37.
Both it, and it's supporters should have had the good grace to lie down and die when it was proven that humanity does not want the changes your megalomaniacal leader wishes to force upon us.

your kind, are weak.
Unable to face the challenges that this universe has for us you have given in to a madman's dream in the hope that it can protect and help you.
such things lead only to stagnation and death.

Get on with it already. The cluster has had enough of you.
