Did you know?

Did you know it is Market mechanics to give the money to the lowest seller? Even if I wanted to buy it from someone else?

For example, I put up a sell order for an Ibis for 15 million isk. I then go buy the same ibis but the isk does not go to the seller, but the lowest seller on the market. If he is selling the ship for 1 isk, he gets 15 million isk.

I dont think this is fair.

actually I'm fairly sure it works that the person who put up the ship for 1m gets his 1m, then the other 14m goes to CCP. The person selling the ship for 1m doesn't suddenly get more than what he asked for.

Or have they changed this?

Besides my plans, this proves that the market isnt doing what we or at least I thought it would.

Thats why people adjust their order to .01isk better than the competition. They do that all day long in Jita.

Yeah, i'd assume nearly everyone that frequents this forum would know that.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Do you think that is good?

I would think that the consumer would want to buy from a good corp if possible. Sending the directly to the person who brought it rather than the person who has the lowest sale price at the time.

must have changed.

a few weeks ago, before it spiked, i was listing pyerite for ~13.75 isk/unit and i ended up recieving 13.9 and 14isk/unit for all of my pyerite.

so, from the fact i got 2 different values for my order, it must have changed.

If this has "changed" it changed more than 3 years ago, beacuse it's always been like this as long as I've been playing...

"free markets" as in, markets with no or low taxes, broker fees, rules and regulations, do exist. in those markets you can do all sorts of things. but since they trend to distort themselves no one cares for them, except tv economists who like to sound smart by talking about the "free market".

regulated markets, and straight private markets are much more appealing.

the eve market is a public market, regulated by concord, they collect taxes and in exchange they offer the "ui" to browse it, and brokerage services.

if you don't like it, you can always get a taste of the "free market" by spamming local. :D

it has always been this way (using the ibis as the example):

if you put an ibis up for sale in a station that has other ibis's for sale, you HAVE to buy the lowest priced one from that station.

if you select a higher prices ibis (when lower prices exist in the same station), the sale will go to the lowest seller and you will get their ibis, they will get your money.

the lowest priced sell order always wins.

the highest prices buy order ( that is within range) wins.

that is how it should be.

if you want to buy from specific people... then make the deal outside the market screen,

If you wanted the same ship back you should have just cancelled the sell order. You would be out the fees but not all that isk.
