If you want to upgrade an EVE Online trial account to a full account, you have several options and most of them are easily available at EVE Online’s Account Management section. While trial accounts in EVE Online allow a first solid game experience, the massive EVE Online Universe is much more accessible with a full account.

The first option to upgrade your trial account or to extend your account once the trial time has expired is by following these steps:

  1. Go to the EVE Online Account Management section and log in there with your username and password.
  2. Click the "Reactivate trial account" link and you will be taken to a page to select your payment method.
  3. Follow the steps at the payment method selection page to complete your payment and to register your account into a full account.

A second option to upgrade your trial account is available. You can simply activate a PLEX in game by right clicking on the PLEX icon, choose “Add Game Time to Account” from the pop-up menu and then click “Yes” on the confirmation question.

Trial users DO NOT need to purchase the game CD from a store or buy a new CD key, the trial subscription will simply be converted to a regular subscription.

If you have any questions or problems with upgrading your trial account, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly Customer Support Team which will gladly assist you!

Might want to add that you don't have to wait till your trial is finished.

If you subscribe (in any way you want) game time is ADDED to your account.

This means if you made a 14-day trial and subscribe on your first day for a month (30days) you will have a full paying account with 44 days on it.

Definitely worth pointing out. A lot of new players seem to not be clear on that point. Not too long ago I was among them.

So if I upgrade my trial account and pay for the game, do I get a free month of game time? or do I have to buy the game and buy my first month of gametime?

Next question.. I know if I send someone a trial and they buy the steam version I won't get rewards, but can they still upgrade their account with the steam cd key?

1.) You don't buy the game, you ALWAYS buy game time. The game client itself is free to download. So if you "buy" the game initially, it includes gametime. But there is no Free month. Say you are in your trial and you "buy the game" (which is basically 1 month subscription), then that month will be added to you account but it isn't free.

2.) Yes, he can still upgrade from trial to full with the CD key. You however won't get a reward from the buddy invite offer.

First of all I'd like to say hi, as it is my first post.
I have a question concerning subscription promotion (that one where user gets a free destroyer and 30 days of game time for 9 EUR). It says, that PLEX/ETC can't be used with this offer. Does it mean, that if I choose it, I won't be able to use PLEXes to pay for subscription anymore? Or does it just mean that it's impossible to pay for this offer with a PLEX or ETC? Also it's written, that after 30 day period account will renew itself automatically for rate stated. Then, what is going to happen if I choose to pay with the Paysafe service?
I hope i expressed myself clearly.

These are terms and conditions of promotion mentioned:

Quote:

Offer ends 1/6/2013
Only trial accounts are eligible for this offer.
ETC and PLEX cannot be used with this offer.
After the 30-day promotional period, your account will renew automatically at the regular subscription rate of €14.95 per 30-day period.

Tip:

For direct answer by official CCP personal file a petition.

This can be done in game by pressing F12 and select file a petition (under billing in this case).

Or you could go to this website (log in with your EVE account) and file a petition there (it's the same thing, only out of game).

Petitions are personal and are only seen by CCP.
However they are also likely to be answered correct and quicker (no garantuee though on that).

This trial thing is a trap. The game is highly addictive.
I'm even pissed I can't play right now because stupid Steam just screwed up the whole thing and started redownloading it again.

I have a question, I'm currently on a trial account and I don't have money on my card. Say I were to sub and get the free month, could I do this without the money on it?

I have a weird situation. When I try to upgrade it wants me to use their Japanese partner to pay for time...because I am in Japan, but I am not Japanese and so far I havn't had luck with the payment options. (It was pretty hard just to make an account...had to convert my name to Katakana)

Can I use http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/mmos/eve-online-30-day-starter-pack/ To upgrade my trial account? It would be nice to get the booster and ship while I was upgrading. If not I guess I will go and try to find one of their point cards for the Japanese site somewhere.

Ok, so I am pretty much brand new to this, but from what I understand is, as far as trial accounts go your 15 days are cumulative if you decide to buy a subscription, so if you have a subscription already (like from purchasing the game + 1st month package from a retail store or someplace like Steam), those 15 days are in ADDITION to the 30 days from the original subscription, for a grand total of 45 days, am I correct?

My question is, if you already have your trial account and you purchase a subscription, does it automatically upgrade your account to full or do you have to do it yourself?

In my case, I bought the game + 1st month deal off of Steam, downloaded the client through Steam, and then went to link to my EVE account, only I didn't have one so I started one with the 15-day free trial. Once I had my account running, I went ahead and linked my Steam account which added the 30-day subscription from the Steam deal. I did this all before I even touched the client, which means when I started the game it was 15 + 30 = 45 days.

I guess a better question would be, how do I know if my account is still considered a "trial" account? I do still see the messages on certain skills saying "Can't be trained w/ trial accounts" I don't know if those are displayed for all users or only those who have trial accounts and are viewing the skill. But, like I stated above, I did buy a full sub from Steam in addition to the 15-day trial.

Yea I'm not too fond of this myself. I was going to train in mining barge I as I had accumulated 10mil ISK in 2 days for a larger mining ship, but it said my account is still a trial even though I had payed for a full month of game time 2 days ago.

The account management page will display if you are a paid or trial account.
If you subscribed while logged in you have to relog before the change take in effect as the client only checks for paid/trial status when logging in.
The rltext on the skills etc is fixed ao even paid ones see that text.

Easy solution in game would be the industrial skill fornyour race. They are very cheap and have the trial limitations on it.

I'm currently playing the trial version that has 2 characters on my account. I purchased a Starter Pack, which comes with a ship, some skills, and 30 days of game time. How does the activation process determine which character gets the extras? I want to make sure it goes to my active character, which is the one I've been leveling up.

I've been to the account management page. There is a place to enter my key, but I don't see any way to select which character I would like use with the extras.

Any help would be appreciated.

So if I pay for the subscription, then I get the whole game right? Like all the expansions and everything? I pay the $14.99/month and I have all aspects of the game....I don't have to pay or buy anything else?

Watch out. If you plan to use the steam CD-KEY to upgrade an existing trial account, do not log in with your steam account when asked to. It will use the key on an entirely new account.

It happened to my friend and he just filled a petition. Hopefully, they will fix this error.
