At least they're thinking. It's apparent you didn't and now you can't cope with your 'loss'.

OMG, stop trolling and use you're evolution given brain!

I'm not crying because there was a risk. I'm cross because CCP just decided to do something like this without warning. Something they have never done b4 that affected the 'player' market.

The risk inherent in dealing with seeded items is that they may again be...wait for it...seeded.

Get real.

This is balls. Will CCP randomly seed more t2 bpos? they have never done this b4.... there needs to be warning before they fuq with the markets. On every patch notes so far that have effected the markets or players they have given ample warning!!

Actually there was this thing called invention that resulted in various T2 prices to fall down heavily once people were no longer tied to T2 bpo's. You can ask how hulk BPO owners felt like when they no longer could sell their stuff for 500 mil/each and had to settle for 200 mil/each which then went down to 100 mil for while.

Face facts, CCP is bound to do shenigans that affect value of goods, prepare accordingly when planning long term business.

LOL, how much time did they give people to react? Months? I think that is slightly different. Its like them re-releasing Zephyrs in another gift, when in the item description it says it will only happen once.

CCP 2011 = Merry Xmas, we are going to give you a brilliant implant in 2 weeks, just this once (see item description)

Me = 2011 sounds like something to invest in as prices will only rise!

CCP 2012(on the day) = Have some more.

Me = FFS Cry

I'm just baffled you're still playing the victim here.

It's just like the Festival Launchers, they seeded the first set years ago, which drove the prices up. Had I bought and horded tons of them then they just released the new ones, it'd be entirely my fault, not theirs.

Hell for an IRL example, its like buying a bunch of Coca-Cola Christmas memorabilia and hoarding it because its worth money, then they rerelease the same thing next year.

Its just bad trading, period. Its not CCP's fault, its yours. Calling everyone who points this out to you a troll doesn't make you any less wrong in this situation.

Dude..you invested in the equivalent of Elvis commemorative dinner plates, with predictable result.

I mean, if some ambiguously worded flavor text on an item is good enough to get you to sink ISK into something, then I've got an amazing business venture you got to hear about...

Then continue your poo-flinging escapades, I enjoy watching them.

Edit: I should note, your ability to just blatantly say that gets massive kudos, most people would just continue arguing ;)

The original was a Perception/PG implant, the one given today is INT/CPU

Actually, I got a Perception/PG implant on my Alt. So it's a mix, I suspect.

At CCP HQ, Reykjavik.....

Option One - As OP Would Have It:

CCP Soundwave sits at desk with phone taped to his head: "hello, yes, is this um....cheesus monkey?"

"oh, cheese, yes, sorry about that, you players sure have some names..."

"Well this is CCP Soundwave, making our round of christmas calls to let everyone know that we plan on gifting the CA- set of implants this year. Is it true you have invested significant ingame currency into this item?"

"....yes, I hear you, and that's why I'm calling, to make sure you have opportunity to recoup your investment. We take our InterStellarKurrency very seriously here at CCP, and would never make any change that could potentially cause a player loss. If you are unable to recoup the value of the implants before we gift them, I will personally credit your wallet with the isk difference."

OR

Option Two - As CCP Would Have It:

CCP ________ sits at computer, logged into EVE: ((to self)) "Hrm, players really loved those implants we gave out, I think I'll try out one of these neat fits that wouldn't be possible otherwise"

((gets attention of other nearby employee and points to screen)) "Look at this, you remember those implants we gifted?"

Other CCP _______ approaches: "Yeah, I do, you have to check out (insert awesome rifter fit here), that implant set makes it possible, and newbies...."

First CCP _______ interrupts: "But, look at this, some cheese guy has singlehandedly manipulated the market on them, making them nearly inaccessible to the newbies who could really use them, and trying to pull huge profits from our generosity."

Both CCP in unison: CHRISTMAS GIFT!!!

A valid question was asked: Will we seed more of the genolution implants?

Potentially. We really like them as a gift as they provide a nice little bonus but not something overwhelming. I don't know if or when we will use them, but I know we are keeping the option on the table.

So there I was last night, thinking: "I've been getting a lot of ships blown up frivolously, let's sell off some assets that have been gathering dust. Hmm... I got these Genolution things for free and I'm not using them, let me put them on the market and make someone else happy with them!"

Sold just before downtime.

And what did I get for Christmas? Replacement Genolutions and a bucket of tears!

Keep doing what you do <3

Ranting is prohibited

A rant is a long-winded, redundant post, often filled with angry, non-constructive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community and helpful in the development of the game, but rants are disruptive and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise, clear manner and avoid going off on rambling tangents.

Understand that a gift is a gift, and you are still getting a free item.
Market fluctuations happen all the time and your investment was risky.
Also, ranting about it on the forums isn't going to help your case.

I am locking this topic for being a rant.

We do not announce what Christmas gifts we are giving away beforehand, as that ruins the spirit of them. We reserve the right to rerelease any old content at any time. While we never intend to crash any market for an item, we do acknowledge that this will happen at times and we apologize to anyone who is negatively affected by it.
