Hey all!

I've decided to make a crack at doing a YouTube series, and I thought what better way than helping new players ease into the game. I'm doing these tutorial videos for the VERY new player so I'm trying to keep things simple and quick, therefore some things I have to go over quite quickly, and some things I completely gloss over (for now). If I get good feedback from the EVE community I'll continue to do these tutorials, and if I get constructive feedback I'll definitely take it into account and do my best to make my videos and my channel better.

And now for the shameless plug:

I do hope that these videos help the rookie pilots, and there are plenty more to come! Please don't be afraid to let me know what you think :)

1. STOP spinning your ship around. It's so annoying for everybody.
2. Make bulletpoints what you want to talk about.
3. Make script before you start.
4. Keep up good work.

Kiwis,

Thanks for the input! Believe it or not, others have told me to make bullet points as well and for my next episode I'll be using them, so hopefully I can be more clear and concise. I'll stop spinning my ship too, though it's a hard habit to break (it is an old EVE pastime after all!)

Bump for a new video.

It's about security status, the new bounty system, and Crimewatch! If you have any questions about these topics, please watch my video and feel free to leave questions or comments either here or on the video and I'll try and answer them as well as I can.

IMO, CCP needs to dump the current crap tutorial system, and replace it and/or augment it with VIDEO training. Video is sorely needed in new pilot training, and at least a basic level of that training should come from CCP.

I miss the old tutorial system where aura told me to undock (without explaining how), then how to lock things and activate modules.

Then she dumped me out into the cold world of Eve to learn as I went

I remember my first day in EVE with that "tutorial" system. I spent a solid 30 minutes trying to figure out how to move my ship (it's doubleclick, btw), and then determined the game would take forever to play because going 15 AU at 300 m/s wouldn't work (after all, Aura never told you about WARP).

And Shiri, yes absolutely x1000. Most of the tutorials are out of date anyway. I recently went through the Career Agents for Gallente to fix standings on my combat toon and found out just how bad the tutorials are.

Though Advanced Military was funny, I like how it taught you that ships are dispensible and to not get too attached (a common pitfall for the new and/or hisec player)

After you put together a list of the things you want to communicate to new players, make sure you check out these videos and consider referring to them for the bit where they are still correct:

Glad to hear it! Due to Christmas and my honeymoon I haven't been able to push content over the last few days, but there's more to come in the (very) near future. :)
