Is it possible? 100% tax? Might require some RP attitude? Lol

I've heard of it being attempted, but I don't know how much it succeeded.

I've known several corps that do it and thrive pretty well.

As in a real life, it works to the exact same extent that the members of the group really want it to.

I wish it was fully possible. It'd make everyone happy, after all.

Its seen , but they'll never grow as big as Goonswarm.
people are just selfish .

They don't commit their free time to a corp just so they can see someone else pew pew their money away

Evolution is known to run very high tax rates - sometimes 100% and often in the 70-80% range.

Hmmm... real communism or the watered down version European intelligentsia like to fantasize about in their Ivory Towers? With themselves at the "top", of course. Blink

Noting, however, the "fantasy" part, since in any real effort at Communism it's usually the intelligentsia that are "first against the wall"... threat to the "State" and all that.

No. We've seen discussions about communism on GD. The non-intellectuals and pseudo-intellectuals jump on to explain what communism is... and they are wrong.

I just don't understand null sec players.

A 100% tax rate and everything being put in company hangers when not in immediate use, so that others can use them freely. Again, so long as you don't get infiltrated by thieves looking to sabotage you, it can actually work out fine.

To be honest, that's very similar to what we do. For example, we keep a small stash of small industry & mining ships in open corp hangers for exactly the purpose of "public use." Policy is simple: Need one? Borrow one. Put it back when done so someone else can borrow it later. Of course, nothing goes in there that we can't afford to lose - we're generous, not stupid. But the point is we've got a strict policy: Company money goes to company stuff for members of the company. Our CEO (my aunt) doesn't personally own anything bigger than a T1 cruiser.

Then again, we're not in it to get rich. Companies without real business goals fail. We're in it improve our area of space. We like to make sure there are plenty of starter ships out there & enough supplies to keep them going. That we happen to make money at it is just a nice bonus.

I didnt realize NPC corps had 100% tax..they must have stealth fixed that problem where people were staying in NPC corps forever.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

But a 100% tax only covers what people earn from missions, correct? What about the isk people earn from mining, manufacturing, margin trading, etc. That would be in the corp member's private wallet, for use as an individual. Mission bounties isk would be shared among the commune members, but other isk would be private property. How would a communist corp get around that? I'm not arguing here, I'm interested in any ideas for work-arounds.

API monitoring of wallet transactions, contracts, and assets. Kick anyone from corp who doesn't comply with handing their share in.

100% tax wouldn't do it. Democratic countries have higher taxes than communist/socialist ones, and Karl Marx himself said taxes are unnecessary for communism.
