The great thing about your main = It's the sum of all you whims, misdirections and quickly fading interests.

But, to get in a black ops scorpion (what ever it's called) and being Gallente, I find myself in a position to fly a Rokh - SNIPER FIT! What fun! 120km out - BAM - target fo yo azzz!

Rumor has it they can reach 249km and so I'm working for that and can't wait to spring it on a few pirates that can't close fast enough to stop me.

So yeah... it's fun...

I have seen PL use the Rokh well in null sec with close range blaster fits that can melt fleets

As snipers.....with Covert Ops V and Sister Probes you might find a few not to friendly ships up close and personal a bit faster than you think :-P

Good Luck!

PS: Its a Rokh, dont even need that fancy of scanning stuff, but might as well use it and lock him down in about the time it takes to hit the scan system button

Spacetrain in a nutshell

Step 1: Put blasters and faction booster on it
Step 2: Make pixels explode
Step 3: ?????
Step 4: profit

On a more serious note, havent used the Rokh as sniper since Hybrid balancing. Would love to test it but not alot oppertunities in lowsec to use such a boat. Also 250km sniper Rokh is no rumor it does that without any problems.

1. Have no tracking bonus and have no speed
2. Die to the first even slightly competent gang it meets
3.?????
4.Wake up in another station in your pod

(the rokh sucks as a solo bs)

I beg to differ, the Rokh for sure is not an allrounder and does performe horrible in certain scenarios, but it most certainly does not suck. Just because you have to select your targets right does not mean it is an completly usless solo ship.

Give the spactrain some love plx <3

This infamous space train is seeing a revival in popularity. A year or so ago, hybrud turrets were rebalanced. Prior to that, if you brought rails or blasters, (but especially rails) you were killed and laughted at, usually by your own fleet. And if you wished to pve in a rokh, the npc rats would laugh and tell you to fly a raven like all good caldari pilots should.

Now with the hybrids better balanced, the rokh is growing in popularity. Let's just hope the teiricide treats the rokh kindly.

With 425 tech II rails and spike ammunition you don't even need the range bonus of the Rokh to hit that far. You will need some good sensors to Target that far, and you will be in significant fall off, but you can certainly inflict pain from way the hell over.

The problem is people warping directly to you, either because you are on grid and more than 150 away, or because you irritated the hell out of someone that can probe you down (hardly a rare skill among those that like pvp).

Large micro jump drive is a new toy to help with this a little, and of course good fleet support with tackle to keep your Target out in the rain.

Mostly its just that there are a few mechanical game issues with snipeing.

Even as an extreme range sniper the Naga has more DPS. Only thing the Rokh has going for it is its tank.

There's two things working against a Rokh:

1. it has no damage bonus
2. there's no direct upgrade to it.

No. 1 means that Naga will perform better as a sniper in many situations, because it will bring more damage to the table. As a blaster boat, it's a bit of a sidegrade to Megathron and fairly popular as a low sec boat. No. 2 decreases its popularity considerably - while the caldari missile line or the gallente hybrid line get navy versions, the caldari hybrid line does not. This means that whoever gets to Rokh as a shield hybrid boat is either stuck here or has to skill into a different line, making the original run redundant in the first place. To make matters worse, Moa was and Ferox still is inferior to its gallente counterparts.

However, in the ship's defense, this does seem to be changing. With caldari hybrid line getting a damage bonus and the introduction of ASBs and MJDs, there are some fun builds for the Space Shotgun and it's seeing a bit of a rebirth. Personally I love it, I just wish there was a navy version of it too.

Of course, you can downgrade the ammo and achieve higher damage at lower range. The only problem is that Naga gets a range AND a damage bonus, whereas the Rokh only rolls with a range bonus.

Your knowledge of game mechanics is about as good as your literacy.

This rumor is false.

They could reach 400 km, if there wasn't a targeting cap.
