NPC kills needed for military index 1

Is there some magic CCP formula or is there a hard number.

Also, I have heard that killing structures add to the kill total.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I remember reading numbers from somewhere I googled once. I can't recall specifics. I will say I once had a system with only 4 belts and was able to get level 1 on the first day. It does seem to go up in difficulty as you go higher though, of course made easier by having reliable anomalies.

The only thing I remember specifically from a devblog was that the index is raised higher by the bounty of the rat. Doing a santctum yeilds more gain than a lesser anom.

Structures do not count. Only NPC pirates.

AFAIK it's number of kills not bounty, completing Hidden Den's is normally the fastest way because of the number of quick kills you can get in them.
