Can anyone recommend an a good fitting please?
I won't be able to use tech 2 items yet so mostly basic stuff if it is possible to do for these missions.

Thanks.

Same as l1, just more frigates. Maybe 10-12 frigates in l2 instead of usual 4-6 in l1.

Most pilots fly L2's with a cruiser.

Best of luck.

That is what I did too.

However, not everyone can afford 6 mil for cruiser. ☺

Thanks guys, can't exactly fly a cruiser at the moment so sticking with the Thrasher. Tried out auto cannons, 50/50 chance I can do the missions, if I can't do it then I switch to Arty and wipe them out long range. A bit slower but much safer and a 100% survival. What rigs and medium slots shall I use?

Off the top of my head I don't know what the resists of the Thrasher is for shields. You will want to go shields. Are you thinking passive/active tank?
Personally I like active better, I would fit mission specific hardeners in the mids and either resists in the rigs, or Small Core Defense Field Extender's.
Also fit an AB.
I just did a quick search and most of the lvl 2 Thrashers are going passive, this seems to be a good build: http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/42560-Thrasher-Level-2-pve-speedmissioning.html -switch the tech-II's for meta 4's.

I like active better, but that's just me.
EDIT: You might want to go faction ammo as well for that extra damage.

I'm not sure if it's worth it while running L2s tbh...

Hi !

Any "old" destroyer fitted with long range turrets is fine for lvl 2 missions. You should select gun/ammo typy in order to have optimal at 25-30 km, and in this case you will not need real tank, because in most cases you will be out of rats shooting range. You will basically need just shield booster or armor reppper, plus afterburned in order to keep your distance. Anyway dessies do not have enough mid/low slots to build a tank.

So, shield booster will probably be better because it will save you low slot for extra DPS module. Faction ammo or T2 guns are not really needed here.

I personally use meta 3 or meta 4 guns and DPS mods.

Yeah very true, just thought he might benefit from trying faction ammo if he's skills were low.

there are some lvl2s that are significantly harder than the rest. iirc mission of mercy was one of them. aside frome these edge cases, you do not really need a tank at all. just warp in, target everything and mash your head on f1 to f7 and you're golden.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Personally, I like to use this fit (downgraded to a very basic T1 fit for you, update with T2 as you go):

[Thrasher, The Ex Wife]
Pneumatic Stabilization Actuator I
Pneumatic Stabilization Actuator I

Limited 1MN MicroWarpdrive I
Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
Small C5-L Emergency Shield Overload I

200mm Light 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP S
200mm Light 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP S
200mm Light 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP S
200mm Light 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP S
200mm Light 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP S
200mm Light 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP S
200mm Light 'Scout' Autocannon I, EMP S
[empty high slot]

Small Projectile Ambit Extension I
Small Projectile Locus Coordinator I
Small Projectile Burst Aerator I

It's not long range, it's not cap stable and it mixes an active tank with buffer, which all by its own tend to be a bad idea that everyone smart around here will tell you not to do - but it's a hell of a fun to fly and it shreds packs to tiny pieces. I have weapons grouped 3-2-2, meaning I'll 1-2 shoot up to three frigates at once.

Dani's comment above is why I opted for this build. Remember - if it's a threat, you're not killing it fast enough. This thing has the firepower (330 dps, T2 fit with normal ammo) to blow up even cruisers in very short order and the small shield booster is sort of a safety net, pulsed while MWDing from pack to pack if the shields sustained reasonable damage. For the vast majority of missions, though, even the shield extender is an overkill.
