It was so that people wouldn't be wasting their money. Dev's would be at the top of the bounty listings with little or no way for anyone to do anything about it.

It would have caused no end of complaints.

Scale the font size logarithmicaly with the size of the total bounty; (eg: <1M = 6 point, <10M = 7 point, <100m = 8-point etc)

Decrease transparency with the number of bounties

Allow players to choose font style (eg: Old West Gothic, a 20s style Sans-Serif, a "future" console style... others?)
