So I just wanted to make sure of something:
If i see a pilot that is solid red, eg not flashing, I can or cannot legitimately shoot ?

yeah i realise this has probably been covered before but still would like a simple answer..preferably from a CCP person

Yes, actually, there ARE stupid questions.

I work in IT. In a large law firm. With people who have been through a LOT of college and law school.

Trust me. There ARE stupid questions. Blink

So if I cut the cord off my mouse, it should work wirelessly. Right?

Yes. Give it a shot. I'll wait while you try.

Simple answer is 'it depends'.

What it depends on is how you've setup your overview.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Check your overview settings. If the solid red color means suspect, war target, criminal, etc., you can shoot them.

I feel your pain. My favorite question.

Why isn't my iternet working? *I examine the back of the laptop* Where's your ethernet cable? "Oh, I need one of those?" "Yes, we don't have wireless in this end of the building." "Yeah I knew we didn't have wireless."

You should just continue mining. PvP is probably not your thing.

If it's flashing yellow, you can shoot at it, if you get flagged as a suspect (looting a can) then everyone can engage you.

OP i take it you mean in high sec

if you have your safety set to green you can shoot
if you would get supect or criminal flag then your weapons wont active
this is regardless of your overview setting
so just blast away
