why is CCP tring to kill EVE?

Why does CCP insist on continually making things worse? I have been playing eve for almost 3 years now. Every patch put out has slowed the game down and made things more difficult. The biggest Mistake was the whole Shadowing effects BS. I know 3 players who don’t even play anymore because in order to play eve now they have to get a whole new computer. Personally I have 3 computers that can’t run eve anymore and I fear that the next round of CCP “upgrades” will eliminate the 2 computers that I have that can still run eve.

Then came the new inventory management, it is slow to load, clunky as hell and in general makes things harder to move around. The unified inventory system as put a big drain on resources, and causes nothing but lag.

As a computer programmer I understand the need to improve a program from time to time. But improving the game shouldn’t make it so people can’t use the program. CCP seems to be under the misguided impression that we are all running Cray super computers with dedicated GB fiber optic internet connections. When will they understand that there constant tweaking and disregard for the actual game play experience is just going to KILL eve?

Game works fine for my mediocre rig.

ccp did break a lot of things in the past, i can think of the lat mayor patch slowdown issue as one, with my clients slowing down to 2fps for no apparent reason. it actually stayed present until retribution was launched. i used to get 50fps at best, with the clients tanking to 20fps on 100+ ships in space situations, and this is after many "fixes" were applied.

since retribution im back at 60 fps running 7 clients. 40 with 100+ ships out. and thats watching 1080p video on the third monitor.

so, the client is not the problem, its your pc.

im using an old 6core amd cpu with a 5870 vga... now that's almost 4 generations old! honestly im really impressed with retributions performance, whoever was in change of fixing the mess that was introduced with inferno did a wonderful job.

both the engine and the ui work really fast, im even happy with the new inventory now... yet there seems to be a problem lately with the main station inventory not remembering that i left it open before i undocked.

You never gave any information on these three computers for us to look into, you just blamed the Unified Inventory for your problems outright.

On a note, I don't have a supercomputer here at work. It's an Intel Core2Duo (Dual core) machine. With a GeForce 260.
I run three clients and also a full EVE server on my machine on a daily basis without issues.

Please help us, by describing your issues in more detail without blaming any one feature.

My computer is about 4 years old and my graphics card is slightly older than that. I can still run 3 clients on full with very few hiccups. Maybe you should not buy OEM crap?

I think those three computers that cant run eve need to be retired, or looked into. Eve doesn't take much at all to run. It looks and runs well on my 5 year old machine with a crap core 2 duo.

That may be your problem here. I know many many programmers, who use machines probably forgotten in time capsule, just because they don't need anything better than running their favorite IDE, the longer the code takes to compile, the better - time to do other stuff at work.
Be programmer at work and gamer at home ;) My 6 years old notebook can run EVE no problem, not that I play on it (although mine on it).
It's christmas time, get yourself nice rig or even mediocre rig. You will be happier not only EVE-wise.

The last time i checked you were able to disable your "Shadowing BS"

You can make eve to look like 2005 if you want to.

I really like that CCP is upgrading the grafics so we dont end up playing a damn ugly game.

Both on my okay pc and my gaming rig.

I had a 3 year old system that had a nvida dual output card in it and it can no longer run eve due to the shader requirement . That's is not own crap and yet eve won't even launch on it .
