Looking for S&I related questions you want to ask CSM candidates!

Hi everyone.

Every election since the CSM4 elections I've ran CSM Vote Match, a website where you can match your views and opinions about Eve with the views and opinions of the candidates. Since the Vote Match website looks like it is from 1997 I'm currently building version 2.0 from scratch which will offer much greater functionality and more nuanced matching! You can preview the new website here, but keep in mind it's currently still filled with placeholder and mockup content.

But I need your help!

I need statements to present to the candidates (and the voters), and I like them to be as diverse and useful as possible. It's not easy coming up with 40 statements by myself so that is why I am asking you.

I am specifically looking for statements that:

  • Are unambiguous and clear in their meaning
  • Can be answered with "Strongly disagree", "Disagree", "No opinion", "Agree", "Strongly agree"
  • Do not require a full paragraph of text to explain themselves

So an example of a good statement would be:
Quote:
A complete POS overhaul should be a priority for the summer expansion

This statement is clear in it's meaning, can be answered as needed and is fairly succinct.

Additionally, I am also including open questions in Vote Match this year. The open questions will not be used in the matching process but will be visible on each candidate's profile page. So I also need suggestions questions you would like all candidates to answer.

Please help, because the questionnaire will only be as good as the statements we can come up with!

TL;DR
I need you to give me statements that can answered with "Strongly disagree", "Disagree", "No opinion", "Agree", "Strongly agree" for use in CSM Vote Match. Also I am looking for open questions to ask the candidates.

Really no suggestions? I'm not too familiar with S&I myself so I don't want to leave that area out in the cold but I will need some help with it.

I'll bite

I think you've got the killer question however...

Corp roles should be revamped immediately so that you cannot deliver other corp members jobs

POS Module hangers should be revamped immediately so that each individual corp member has their own hanger

In light of the fact that every other ship is getting rebalanced Industrials and Transports should be next..

We need a mini-freighter so that training mining director is not a requirement to transport volumes in between a transport and a freighter

The buff to blockade runners to make their holds unscannable was an almighty cockup and should have been applied to deep space transports instead.

Since the minign barge buff, hulk is a redundant dinosaur and should be removed from the game Big smile

and as suggested in another thread here

Meta 4 and T2 modules should be rebalanced in the next 12 months such that meta 4 s are not significantly better than their T2 equivalent making the T2 version redundant.

The Industry UI should be overhauled as soon as is feasible with the goal of streamlining processes, reducing clicks and allowing batch operations (eg select 5 BPCs and, in a single operation put them all in for invention in the same lab with the same settings)

Blueprint copies with the same ME, PE and remaining runs should stack in the inventory

The tooltip for a blueprint in the inventory should show ME, PE and runs remaining (latter for BPCs only of course)

Manufacturing (invention, copying, etc) should be able to take their supplies from a container in the selected hanger

I think the challenge a lot of us have is thatt here are so many broken things related to S&I as well as being interconnected in other areas. For instance, Corp Roles & Permissions are an almighty horror for industrial corps as the granularity of permissions leaves a lot to be desired (see Nevryn's first suggestion). But does that fall under S&I or under Corp Management? I would think corp management as there are other permissions and roles that need to be addressed. I think Nevryn has several good ideas. The problem is that there are so many problems, we all know that CCP won't be able to address them all and will get the Soon TM treatment.

In a related sense, maybe gather all of the issues/problems from the playerbase and then, rather than having the candidates Strongly Agree/Agree/etc., have them rank-order the problems in the order they would advocate them being fixed.

Make COSMOS storyline items better to reflect their meta version. For example, make the "Locomotive XL booster" boost the same amount of T2, but with lower cap/power/cpu, or something along that line. Most items are utterly useless.

Something like this yes.
