I found this info in the help center, but i still have a question.

"Please note that agent mission complexes marked as completed, wrecks, containers and other perishables in space despawn and disappear from space during downtime."
===

What does 'marked as completed' mean? In my mission, I had green check marks on all objectives, but didn't want to click 'complete mission' since I wanted to collect some ore from the complex before i did that.

Will a mission complex be deleted during down time if I have completed all objectives, but not yet turned it into the agent?

Thanks in advance.

Yes

Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if you're in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. Pub Channel: Lost Souls Trading Post

Let me add to that: You can complete the mission deadspace area without having fulfilled all the criteria of the mission. This can cause you to be unable to ever finish that mission, in which case you petition to customer support and we assist you.

As an example, you can kill all the enemies in the final pocket of Worlds Collide and not pick up the crew (mission objective). The mission deadspace is still "complete" and will not respawn, leaving you without any means to rescue the crew.

You can prevent this happening to you by simply avoiding missions just before downtime or otherwise ensure that you have the mission objective secured before downtime.

I have a related question that I think fits here. I was running a level 4 in a Drake and was having a bit of tough time taking out the final two battleships. A corp-mate offered to help and when we got down, thanks to the evenings beverages, made the mistake of blowing up the mission loot. This was yesterday and I haven't had a chance to see if there was a respawn or not. However, if it didn't, what's the best approach? I'm still not 100% sure I understand faction standings with respect to missions not completely correctly.

- let it expire, take that standings hit?
- abandon it, take that standings hit?
- is it possible to petition this use case?
- other?

TIA

Thanks very much spiral.

Can I boil it down to this?

If everything that is supposed to be destroyed and/or killed in a mission, is destroyed, then the mission space is considered finished as far as downtime housekeeping goes and the space will be wiped clean.

I appreciate the help folks.

Doesn't have to be everything...

A certain ship / structure or multiple ships / modules are classed as triggers.
If the triggers are destroyed then the deadspace pocket is classed as completed on the server and will not respawn at downtime.

Well, you can petition it.

But because it was a fault on your end by shooting the mission loot (you must be very very very drunk to shoot wrecks) and not some server issue which doesn't let you complete the mission, don't get your hopes up too much on a reset. Even more cause it's a level 4 and not some new player tutorial mission.

You can of course take the sec status hit by abandoning / let it expire...that's a choice up to you.

Hehe. This stuff is tricky.

i guess the simplest thing to do is just leave PLENTY of time between mission acceptance and the next down time. That way there will be time to use the space after the objectives are met.

If Australians stopped running missions just because DT was half an hour away, we'd never be able to run missions Lol

In the situation where you accidentally destroy the mission objectives, I would simply fail the mission and keep going. Waiting the extra half hour or so for customer service to reset your mission is wasted time.

There is a final option if you lose mission loot, you can buy it off contract usually for an inflated price but you can still look.
