Scanning glitch - resizing spheres

The keyboard shortcut for resizing the scan radius:

Grab the edge of the sphere, hold down shift, and it reduces all of them.

Only intermittently it doesn’t! It looks like it did, and when you hit scan, they spring back to their original size!

So annoying.

Anyone know why?

Lag/desync, maybe? I've never experienced this.

If it keeps happening, you may want to petition to ask a GM about it, or report it as a bug.

Because you're being lazy and taking shortcuts

I had it happen to me a few times.

But not very often.

No idea what causes it though.

Very helpful as always!

I met the Hoff. So who's the LGM?

I've found resizing using the spheres to be glitchy enough that I select all and right-click on them in the scan window instead.

I've had this happen to me as well.

That hulk pilot at the grav site probably doesn't realize how lucky he got on that day.

If you wish to help by submitting a bug report then you may find information on how to submit a good bug report and the bug report form on the wiki.

When we encounter UI issues we usually start with asking players to clear their cache. There is a guide for doing so on the wiki, should you want to try that before submitting a petition.

Lastly, you could have a look at the Issues, Workarounds & Localization forum to see if anyone has encountered this and/or found a solution.

If all else fails you should submit a petition and our game masters will try what they can to assist you.

Well I've kind of got to the bottom of it now.

It's not exactly a bug:

If you hold down shift and then drag the edge of the bubble, it bounces back to the original size when you press scan.

If you left click the bubble first (holding down the mouse button), then hold shift, it works.

Only noticed it since Retribution.

More of a glitch than a bug.

it's been happening for at least the last year. i now prefer to select the first probe from the scanner, shift click the last one to select them all and then right click to choose the size.
