New Camera System giving me a headache.

Since the last patch I have been seeing issues with the camera system.

When I click an object, the camera pans to view the object , cool, I like.

The orientation of the camera though is that screwed up right click view that only lets you pivot with orientation center on camera not your ship. That in itself is only a little annoying, but what really causes the issue is when I move my camera the snap back to my ship.

I do like the idea of being able to see the target in relation to me, but I think there is a better way of doing so without constantly causing me to have to change my camera view just because I clicked something. Can we not instead have a button to orient camera towards (Similar to Look At but Look Towards without physically moving the camera to the target).

The camera mechanics would be simple I think, Rotate the camera around the ship as if using left click panning via mouse, and orient the desired object slightly above center screen. Right now whatever I click moves to put the ship and the object in the same pane on a 2 monitor setup. So effectively every few seconds when I am active my screen is wrenching back and forth.

Please fix.

Click "C" That turns the function off.

the exact procedure is:

clik, clik, C, clik, view something, clik, C, open d-scan window, check-uncheck tracking, clik, clik, press C

And it should be done.

Legend: clik: means clicking in space for different stuffs, like players, rocks, etc

Yes, disabling this is a bit iffy with no confirmation message to show you the change 'stuck on'

Hi, what you are asking for is extra/alternative features and outside the scope of what we set out to achieve. The track selected item camera mode works at doing what we intended which is to allow you to view selected items whilst still maintaining a view of your ship. The reason why you find it nauseating is that you have a extremely wide resolution caused by dual-screening. It's regrettable that the feature does not feel as good when used on extremely wide resolutions but unfortunately this is a limitation we cannot get around.

But fear not, we're working on something completely different to be released next year that I am quietly confident will work perfectly on your dual-monitor setup and is much much sexier than this camera angle nonsense Big smile
