Salvaging Drones and Tech2/Faction Wrecks, possible problem?

I have had 2 salvage drones on a blood faction wreck for about 30 minutes. I saw that it used to say "Your salvaging attempt failed" but I am not even seeing that anymore.

Is there a minimum level of salvage drone (such as the salvaging skill needing to be like level 3 before you can salvage commander wrecks?)
