A moment of silence for the victims of the Connecticut Shooting

It seems that the world has suffered another tragedy.

In memory of the lives of the people lost during this horrific event, I would ask that on Sunday at 0:300 eve time we have a moment of silence. All guns, all missiles, all drones be turned off server-wide for 60 seconds.

If we can get the devs in on this, all the better. I feel as if something should be done for the victims.

I actually total endorse this idea. A cease fire seems like a really good way to show some care for the event instead of getting caught up in the Immediate Media Maelstrom.

i thought the discussion in the other thread was going fairly well, for a game forum. minimal flaming or hate mongering. we tried discussing this event on the WoW forums and it was shut down 15 posts in. perhaps it reflects well on our community we got to over 4 pages. Blink

maybe we'll have totally respectful discourse one day.

Problem is that discussion of politics is not allowed, respectful or not.

It was clear from the start that this thread would turn into a debate about gun control...and this one will, too.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Threads like these never end well. Honestly ISD Type40 should have kept this one locked because internet people will be internet people and this thread will go down like a fighter shot out of the sky just like the other one, hence part of the reason why I tend to stay away from discussing in them anymore. No minds will ever change. No ways of life will ever change.

Take a trip to GD or C&P for a change.
5 years in OOPE have apparently turned you into a hollow shadow of your former self.
There is so much more stupidity to be found on the other boards, don't miss it.
