CSM Vote Match - I'm looking for statements that you want candidates to answer!

Hi everyone.

Every election since the CSM4 elections I've ran CSM Vote Match, a website where you can match your views and opinions about Eve with the views and opinions of the candidates. Since the Vote Match website looks like it is from 1997 I'm currently building version 2.0 from scratch which will offer much greater functionality and more nuanced matching! You can preview the new website here, but keep in mind it's currently still filled with placeholder and mockup content.

But I need your help!

I need statements to present to the candidates (and the voters), and I like them to be as diverse and useful as possible. It's not easy coming up with 40 statements by yourself so that is why I am asking you.

I am specifically looking for statements that:

  • Are unambiguous
  • Can be answered with "Strongly disagree", "Disagree", "No opinion", "Agree", "Strongly agree"
  • Do not require a full paragraph of text to explain themselves

So a good statement would be:
Quote:
A complete POS overhaul should be a priority for the summer expansion

This statement is clear in it's meaning, can be answered as needed and is fairly succinct.

Additionally, I am also including open questions in Vote Match this year. The open questions will not be used in the matching process but will be visible on each candidate's profile page. So I also need suggestions questions you would like all candidates to answer.

Please help, because the questionnaire will only be as good as the statements we can come up with!

TL;DR
I need you to give me statements that can answered with "Strongly disagree", "Disagree", "No opinion", "Agree", "Strongly agree" for use in CSM Vote Match. Also I am looking for open questions to ask the candidates.

Drones should be a primary weapon system that is just as valid in PVE as turrets and launchers

Drones UI needs a complete revamp for next expansion

Drones are fine as they are but turrets and launchers should be targeted and destroyed/disabled by NPC

Nerf off grid boosting tech moons, that don't need drones to kill frigs, and carry around their own portable music player.

I don't think this is a good statement as "the top priority" is extremely specific.

With that questions you are not asking whether I would like to see a POS overhaul in the summer expansion or or not but ask whether that POS overhaul would be more important to me than any other possible issue.

If I answer "strongly disagree" you are none the wiser - might be that I think POSes are not important at all, might be that I would very much like to see a POS overhaul in the summer expansion but completely disagree with making it the top priority (maybe I'd place it on spot #2 or #3 on my list of priorities).

I think, for example,
Quote:
A complete POS overhaul should be a priority for the summer expansion
would allow for a much more differentiated scale of answers and thus paint a better picture of what the CSM candidates actually think.

Just think what happens if you have more than one of these questions in your poll - the person taking the survey can only agree with one (there can be only one top priority) and has to disagree with all the others.

edit: also, won't release planning for the summer expansion be done by the time of the CSM elections? at that point it's largely academic what CSM candidates think about your question...

A fair point, I adjusted the example. However, it is a relevant question to ask - especially because development schedules aren't set in stone (see: crucible) plus even if the summer schedule is set, candidates who feel POS's are important to develop, they will push for them to be included in the winter expansion.

Regardless, in this post the purpose of that question is only to be an example.

  • CCP should pay more attention to fiction/roleplay/immersion aspects of features and content.
  • It was a poor decision to apply the new Inferno 1.2 stats to the old mining barge/exhumer models in the way it was done.
  • What do you think is the most immersion breaking aspect of the mining barge/exhumer changes in Inferno 1.2?

CCP needs to add more small scale objectives that interfere with Nullsec System Activities.

CCP needs to make overhauling Sov Mechanics a priority for for the 2013 Winter Expansion (or sooner).

CCP should to incorporate Nullsec Industry Improvements with the new POS System.

A blob setting that alerts players that a blob is 5 jumps aways.

When one jumps into the same system as the one your in. The screen starts flashing red while playing the Halloween soundtrack song.

I should be able to place a domi in the middle of the galaxy then another domi at the edge of the galaxy and jump drones back and forth.

Ships should show damage after the 4th bumb.

Hi Dierdra,

Some suggestions for CSM Vote Match that might be worthy of consideration;

"CCP should significantly nerf hi sec income sources to provide a much needed indirect buff to null sec"

"CCP should revisit the war dec mechanic to promote PvP in hi sec, but restore a sense of consequence to the aggressor"

"CCP should implement the Pirate Faction Proposal as a major new feature"

"The rise of the mega coalition is a major factor in the slow demise of sov null"

"Power projection is too easy and reduces overall PvP activity"

^ So why nerf hi sec. If all the null sec wealth will just go to mega coalition(s)?

Perhaps a job as a lobbyist here in the states is in your future.
