Best expansion ever

Compare a 720mm to current HMLs and then come back and tell me who has the clear advantage now

Things to consider:
- Ability to hit small ships
- Potential range
- DPS

And no, you aren't allowed to compare T2 ammos since missile and gun T2 ammos have different roles. T1 and faction only.

I'm downright interested to see what you have to say about the overwhelmingly negative reaction to the removal of Jukebox, for example. Or the fact that several 'features' that were added so far fail to work as intended, such as salvage drones being unable to target certain wrecks and the utter failure of the devs to rebalance missions and complexes to take the new AI into account.

Not for the first time I got the impression that you are a "the glass is somewhere around a third empty" kind of person.

Relax, take a deep breath. It is just a game. If you do not like this patch day, i suggest you do sth else you enjoy for a little while, then come back and have another look.

Don't misunderstand, DO voice your opinion/feedback, just don't get unhappy over the whole deal.

Sorry, but I remember a time when this game was fun, and the devs gave a rats ass about the players opinions. Their knee jerk reaction to a problem wasn't '**** the players' it was 'how do we work this into the game without breaking ****.

Did they succeed, no. But they also didn't release in game items with descriptions gloating about how they ****** everyone. That's the part that REALLY is pissing me off.

If by 'best expansion' you mean 'best way to boil a frog twice' then yes. Retribution is just Incarna 2.0. Next to no new content, just rehashed and regurgitated stuff and promises of other stuff. When Incarna came out, I pointed out that the only thing universally well recieved were the new turret graphics, and it's because it was new and it added to internet spaceships. Likewise, the only thing universally liked about Retribution are the new destroyers, and for the same reasons. Come on guys, this isn't hard to figure out, which can only lead me to believe that you're willfully ignorant or don't care.

The feedback thread is where criticism goes to be ignored, and for saying such, this post will probably be pulled.

Agree with the guy about the 'glass is a third empty' quote...

Back on topic, can't wait to have some serious play time again to try out the new mechanics and re-balanced ships!

The fact that more people are engaging in PvP in lowsec indicates that the average player does care about the buff to lowsec.

And you easily outrange the Hurricane with the HML range. You trade range for dps. What is your problem? Oooooh, you think HML's should have double artillery range and still have same dps, I see. Very balanced

I like this expansion. The best in the history of EVE it isn't for me, but it I do think the expansion on the whole was a good one sure there are a few bugs etc to sort out but that is always the case with new code. Personally I think it is clear that CCP put thought and time into this latest release.

So on the whole good work CCP enjoying it.

I joined after Apocrypha (I think), and for me this is indeed easily the best expansion.

More new content than we can consume in months (the new ships not only mean a boatload of new fits and styles to try out, but it introduces new gang/fleet comps in the cheap and cheerful price range = huge buff to the whole game), lowsec is absolutely wonderful (so many fights <3) and Eve looks and sounds better than ever.

I don't want to speak for everyone here, but I don't believe this is true, and if it was at some point, it's not the current thought process I've noticed since I got here. By and large, people consider Apocrypha one of the better expansions we've put out. I think the big problem was the way we went about making it was kinda insane internally and we all realize it's simply not possible to build expansions that way and have them actually turn out like Apopcrypha did. Plus, we built Apocrypha and then never iterated on anything in it.

can you imagine their embarrassment of losing a ship to a real person instead of a game mechanic

Actually, I'm pissed off that if everybody else can shoot at a target that I paid my own isk to shoot.

W-space needs little iteration except an improvement to POS mechanics and maybe fixing some of the state-change and WH collapse bugs since Retribution (nothing breaky, just animations failing to display, which is making crashing holes a little more nerve-wracking). The scanning system wasn't exactly iterated on but greatly improved with alt-drag and doesn't need much else. Really, the only major thing from Apocrypha that needs iteration and hasn't gotten it is Tech 3.

Don't sell yourselves short, Apocrypha was really that good. W-space is a thriving, vibrant community of bloodthirsty enclaves who delight in fighting each other one day and teaming up against greater foes the next. Of all the major features I have ever seen deployed in an expansion, I would say that W-space has been the most successful with the least modification.

Good example.

I believe this example provides a valuable insight into the number and type of people who's personal opinions are simply that, personal opinions.

The jukebox feature has nothing to do with industry, sov, PvE, PvP, PI, or anything else remotely resembling Eve gameplay. It was a neat gee-whiz feature that is more trouble than it its worth to keep up to date. Anyone that seriously thinks its removal from the game has had a detrimental affect on their Eve experience is playing the wrong game. Anyone that thinks just keeping the code there since it already worked is missing the necessary clues to understand why their opinion is invalid.

Get over it. Jukebox is gone. Alt-Tab and use a real media player application.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

So they paid with their own isk for that ship and the modules and the items they carry.

So your not allowed to shoot them now? Since ISK means to much apperently?

thank you. The feature abandon that came out of it really made it not a good expansion in the long term.

This expansion Polished the UI like crazy
Gave us the new crimewatch which is just awesome
fixed bounty system -never thought I'd see it happen
killed ship tiers. This gave us almost 40 new ships this expansion
finally finished factional warfare

These 5 feature alone are huge. I'm hopeing next expansion we'll get those hit effects you were showing off last fanfest. That is new pos is all I care about for now. Sov needs a revamp but I feel like dust needs to come out 1st, don't half ass it like PI.

This might be one of their better patches but I wouldn't go in as calling it an expansion. They changed some features and ship stats and in some cases even improved them but they already existed in the game. Apocrypha is still the best expansion I have personally experienced hands down.
