Hello. I can't seem to find any information which i can adapt easily to get into marketing. I have a main toon which is pvper. I previous years and years ago was a miner which i kinda enjoyed. I want to make isk on the side where i can do indy or marketing. Problem is Indy will take too long to get into so was looking to do this. I strugle to understand what i simply do to make money in this. Can anyone help please?

Thanks

You choose items that you buy low and sell high. That's it.

The different strategies differ as to

(1) The method of acquiring and selling the times. Maybe you buy via buy orders and sell via sell orders. Or you buy from sell orders and sell via contracts. Or you buy from the "Sell Orders" forum and sell via (in-game) sell orders. Or ...

(2) The distance in time between buying and selling. Maybe you start selling your stock as soon as you have acquired it. Maybe you wait a few weeks between buying and selling because you think prices are going to change. Maybe you will even find someone on this forum who enables you to sell the item before you have bought it. Maybe you ...

(3) The distance in space between buying and selling. Some people buy and sell in the same station. Some people buy in Jita and sell in the outer regions of 0.0. Some people buy in all of Domain and sell in Amarr. Some people ...

Indy will take more time (to train skills) but trading takes plenty of time aswell to "find good deals , study markets , make spreadsheets, haul stuff " of course unless you plan on station trading .

I by no mean wana be offensive but : if you couldnt find info or struggle to understand its prob wont be worth the trouble . Because the info is there plenty of it , and well described etc etc So that was the easy part , but as you said SP and time needed to start is pretty small so you can always give it a try i guess :)

Opportunities multiply as they are seized.

Fly around. Check prices of everything. Record the prices in a spreadsheet.

Keep flying around and recording more prices.

Watch the market go up and down on a daily basis.

Identify items that you think you can make a profit from (selling for more than you bought them for after all expenses) and start.

Learn. Grow. Make more ISK.

Upset an entrenched player and discover that market pvp can be some of the most expensively devastating pvp in the game.

Or station trade. Babysit a bunch of buy and sell orders by constantly adjusting them by 0.01 ISK.

Good luck.

i just started this way i saved up 100m i looked for items i could either gather less then 5 jumps from my trade hub that i could sell for more in the trade hub. once i did that i took my 130m and looked for a item that has alot of trading going on for it and has a sizable margin between sell and buy orders and set to station trading with 100m. every day i use the 30m to go around and buy items i can quickly transfer to the hub and sell. after the third day you have more capital to use in station trading. numbers are hypothetical even starting number as you start with whatever you have. I too am new but you know some days you gain alot some days you lose a little or alot in really bad situations.

OK, Ethereal Dawn main, which means you live out in Null, and you're a PvPer.

Woot. A *vista* of profit opportunities has just opened up for you.

First of all, your alliance presumably has a bunch of "fleet fits". Look for the bits that make them up in your local market system. Odds are, they all get bought quickly, right. Maybe some upstanding young entepreneur should import some from Jita, and put them up at a modest markup (20% over Jita generally wont see you kicked from your alliance for ripping off blues).

Secondly, there are generally a bunch of regularly-used PvP consumables. Nanite paste, faction ammo, warrior II drones is a start. The crap you buy all the time. Sell it instead ! You might even get an 'attaboy' from the leadership if everyone can actually *buy* the 2000 rounds of Republic Phased Plasma they are supposed to have on their suicide tackle. Again, modest markups keep them coming back.

Thirdly, check prices of PI commodities like Robotics where you are. As you live in the ass-end of nowhere, you probably import ships, right ? So your logi guys have lots of space going back to Empire. You might be able to get a good deal off one of them, and move low-value PI crap to Jita for next to nothing (*clue* offer the freighter guy a cut of the profit).

Fourthly, your region probably has some loot that drops that people in Jita want. Find what that is, buy locally and ship to Jita for sale.

Finally, put a "Jita Alt" in Jita. Give them some trade skills - 40 slots or so is fine. Have them put up buy and sell orders for the stuff you trade to and from Jita. Buy orders are a big part of where you'll make your money - if you can buy, say, cheap implants off buy orders at 500k each, then you can make a better living than if you're buying off 3m isk sell orders.

With all that said, dont ever over-invest. Find out what sells, and stock about a weeks sales worth, maximum. Start small - faction ammo, nanite paste and warrior IIs. Get a feel for what sells, and ignore the other stuff (ok, maybe leave a couple up there, but dont be That Guy who thinks he's a market dude because he has 4bn of sell orders, and 20m in sales a week).

Good luck !
