Im looking to find a gift for a family member. The family member is an amateur wine aficionado. She bottles her own wine.

Im looking to fine pink wine bottles.

Simple.

Just find somewhere that sells wine in bottle like that, drink the wine, wash the bottles out and present her with the empties.

Glad I could help.

Not an easy thing to find. This would be a niche item. I would google up some bottle makers and contact them. Maybe like this guy: http://www.bottletreecreations.com/bottles.htm

You've got a few options as far as I see. Either track down potential products from any source and then find them from an online store that still has it and delivers to where you live, contact a bottle maker or buy suitable bottles and DIY.

Unfortunately, with wine pretty much being yellow and red, the bottles will only appear truly pink at the very top inch initially, so the point is sorta lost. A light pink Zinfandel may work, but they are not exactly the best wines, and tend to be in the range of Gallo, and they won't deliver in a pink bottle for sure.

You will only have a truly pink colored bottle after it is consumed. Not being harsh. She just won't exactly be opening up a crate of pink bottles initially. Just bear that in mind.

EDIT: found this $50 a bottle champagne : Lanson Champagne. with ordering info here although the picture is different. I'd call first: http://www.wine-searcher.com/find/lanson+brut+rose+pink+edition/0

^^ This is probably your best (and most reasonable) option.

I'd suggest calling a local home brewing supply shop and asking them if they can order pink bottles for you.

Three possibilities from online. The first two sources are inexpensive. I don't know whether they are all appropriate for storing beverages for human consumption.

I am still trying to find the downside with this plan.

Um....you do realize there is a reason wine doesn't come in pink bottles....right? Dark bottles prevent sunlight from damaging red wine and clear bottles present the color of the white wine better. It's possible that a wine maker will put a white in a pink bottle but no self respecting wine maker would put their reds in a pink bottle unless they were doing it for a laugh. Not trying to rain on your parade and I salute you for trying to find some creative way to gift your wine-making friend but there might be better options out there. I'd be really surprised if you could even find any of the standard format bottles in pink and eve then, the bottles need to be the proper dimension to properly accept a cork.

I own a small wine distribution company and have geeked out endlessly with winemakers about the standards and practices of wine making.
