hey,
Im doing this post remotely so thats why im not finding this info out myself.
Im looking for a navy domi fit, shield tanked.

Prime concerns, which is better for fairly difficult pve shield boost or passive.
This will be running hordes, which are tough because of omni damage, you cant shield for 2 damage types like you can for most npc types.

Will be using sentries as primary dps dealing, with drone damage amplifiers. Not gunna focus on guns or mad stabs, I just need advice from those wiser then I, on using a shield navy domi. Also will be using shield rigs, as rigs and amplifiers stack.

Roughly with out access to eft, my mental fit is,

lows:
1x Damage control II
3x Drone damage amplifier II
3x shield power relay II

mids
2x adaptive invul II
1x em shield hardener
1x thermal shield hadener
2x shield recharger

Highs
up in the air, maybe some small guns to get frigates, maybe a smart bomb or 2, no need for link augmentors, maybe a remote rep for sentries

rigs
3x shield purger 1

Like i said, im doing this remotely, so sorry for the appearance of laziness. I wasnt finding what i wanted on battleclinic.

I wouldn't go for a straight "passive" setup....

Also, I recommend fitting omni's to improve my sentry drone's ability to track faster targets, not to mention their damage projection range... Also, I'd utilize augmenters in the highs so you have a good range....

Rogue drones don't orbit past 38km, making gardes perfect, they that far. When i ran a sentry thanny as an experiment, they didn't have a hard time hitting cruiser and battle cruiser sized targets. especially when they spawn 30km away and you order your targets from small to big, and finally, smart bombs or a flight of lights will take care of the little guys will take care of anything inside my range.

If you say (well, you had 15 of them) they also didn't get a 50% bonus like the domi does at level 5, which i have.

Damage application is not something i lack an understanding of, its a way to get the most shield tank out of a navy domi. I have 9 slots and 3 rigs to apply to this venture, and i need the best set up.

You only really need 1 omni for sentries, and you can still fit a good passive tank on a regular domi. Navy domi would be even easier.

If you can fit LSE IIs instead of those rechargers you'd both get more EHP and better recharge speed. (Or at least the first LSE II beats the first Recharger II, the second might not, you'd have to EFT it out)

I noticed that while playing on eft,
How does max shield capacity and recharge rate relate to one another?

Why would you even fly a Navy Domi if you don't fit Large Guns?

Pretty much every drone ship out there can do the passive tanked gunless (aka useless) thing better than the navy domi - The one who has 6 turret slots, enough PG to use them and a bloody dmg bonus to large hybrids.

I didnt say there wont be guns. There might be, but this boats primary weapon is the drones, We will fill in the tops after we find a tank and strategy that works. Hordes are a *****, a ***** of omni damage horribleness.

Btw, for the rest of you, this isnt amateur noob level four mission crap. I'm looking for people who fly shield domi. Just give me examples or ideas on the shield domi.

This inst even for me, i fly a mach and a thanny, this is for one of my noob corpmates that needs help.

No, it isn't. This might work for Guristas ships, or even the Ishtar who doesn't have the CPU to really go all out with its slots, but the Navy Domi easily gets 500dps with t1 ammo out of its highslots.

I strongly recommend you look at an active tanked fit rather than a passive one.

You have your shield HP and you have a recharge time.
Your ship is going to recharge his shield fomr 0% to 100% in that timespan.
If you're fitting some shield recharger, it only lowers your rechargetime (more recharge)
If you're fitting a LSE, it will push your HP. So your ship have to recharge more HP in the same time (more HP/eHP + more recharge)


btw. it's not linear. The recharge of your Cap and your shield does have a peak ant 33 - 36%
If it goes below, the recharge will be lower.
If it's above, it will also be lowser.

If you're shield tanking and think that drones are your main source of damage, then get a rattler. The domi gets about half its DPS from guns, so if you're not going to aim to use guns then a rattler is much better.

Tells people they aren't looking for ameteur noob level crap. Fails to add guns and puts a passive shield tank on a Dominix.

Frankly, the passive shield fit is horrible unless you are using it for certain special applications. This isn't one of those applications and a Rattlesnake would be a better choice for those applications anyways (Level 5 missions with Neuts). The reason that people shield tank a Dominix is in order to cram the lows full of damage mods for the guns (and now drones). That being said, Wuxi's fit is acceptable. I'd probably go slightly different on the tank, but that is just preference.

If you aren't going to use guns you are probably better off fitting an armor tank with drone damage amplifiers in the remaining slots and omni directional tracking links in the mids to help your sentries hit better. And frankly, if your corpmate does have limited skills, I would more recommend going with a heavily overtanked armor setup vs a shield setup. Shield Domi setups are more for people that have experience and the skillpoints to pull off running with shields.
