I'd say work towards the advanced military first and get the destroyer. Then you can use the destroyer to mine and haul for the other career agents.

Exploration is the hardest. You'll either love it or loath it.
As Webvan said, do both the Military first, then it really doesnt matter which.
Then go onto the 'Sisters of Eve' Epic ark missions. - The grand tour of New Eden!

I recommend starting with the basic military, then completing them in whatever order you please. Since you are planning on knocking them all out, it doesn't really matter. Regardless of the order you choose, they will be done before you know it. I did basic military, exploration, then advanced military, just because that is the career path that I've decided to focus on.

Do the stuff you are excited about first, that way you can put those free skillbooks to use right away.

Cheers.

I knocked out all of them accept Military and Adv Military first. My reasoning was as a returning player I wanted to see what other facets of this game have come into play so I rolled a new toon. One thing Ive noticed, all the other agents give you 10/10 missions while I see no indication in Adv Military on how many missions Ill be receiving and I also seem to get receiving standing with that Agent. Not sure if I received it with others or not, but definitely getting it now.

Only two rules, really:

Do Industry before Business, otherwise you won't have a mining laser to use when first required to do so in Business.

And, fairly obviously, do Military before Advanced Military.

It's 10 same as the others.

True that. So probably Military > advanced military > industry > business > exploration (or exploration anytime depending on your interest for it). Then off to The Blood Stained Stars epic arc starting in Amarr space. Or you can do it backwards for the challenge Blink (dudes probably done them all by now heh)

As a bonus, once you get to industry, you can make some good starting ISK mining with the destroyer for a bit, earn ISK to fill those weapon racks. By the time you get to the epic arc, you should have fair destroyer skills to make it through without too much trouble. Though it's easier to do the epic arc with a cruiser as I did years ago on my main, but a dessy is doable as I did with this char.

To avoid any possible confusion, Exploration is only 6 missions.

Well I recall that there was at least one mission that spawned rats. So thats what? 4 slots weapons and 4 for mining? Drop in a cargo expander and you are set. Plus it's a free ship on the career mission. Better off training the dessy anyway, unless you plan to skip to an attack cruiser. Dessy can be useful later if getting into pvp to any degree. Of course if going for a mining career, the mining frig training would be obvious.

I seem to recall that you can always buy the minerals as well for most if not all the tutorial missions that "require" mining.
Beats even the Venture. Blink

Venture is given free in Industry tutorial Mission 2 and can carry and operate 2 drones - ample to deal with tutorial mission rats. It can fit 2 mining lasers with 100% role bonus and 5% per level of ship skill bonus to mining yield, so even with basic skills for the ship it will out-mine a destroyer. (And 4 mining lasers on a destroyer? In your dreams, even without weapons.)

Cargo expander? Venture has 5,000 m3 ore hold.

But why train it up for the bonuses unless you are going for a mining career? Like on my main, a destroyer and the skill book was useless, bought a cruiser. If you are not Gallente, chances are you won't consider drones until at least BC training, and that'll take considerable skill training to keep them from getting destroyed now since retribution.

At low levels, just seems more realistic to train combat skills first, especially if going to the epic arc right after the career agents. In fact as was said, it's probably better just to buy the ore for the agent, which I recall doing before, though mined it with this char for quick ISK since I haven't dumped ISK onto this char from the other. But mining can be avoided, and selling off the books and ships to buy a cruiser is the easy rout. Though destroyer training is good if you ever plan to pvp at any level.

There isn't really any definitive way to do it though. Comes down to preference and if the newbie already knows what they want to get into. Though even if not pure combat, combat skills are most likely going to be of some priority, especially early on since newbies start out with hardly a DPS to do a dent.

Yup, had three on my destroyer. Could have added more, but it was fast enough for the few hours of mining I did, didn't want to buy more. Used a cargo expander as well, yup, got it from the career agent. I didn't train mining up much, was training for frig, dessy and hybrid V at the time, farming roids for isk to buy equipment rather than missioning for it. But took my time with the career agents, doing other things as I worked through them. After all, they hadn't changed too much since I first did them.

No need to "train it up". Level 1 of Mining Frigate skill enables the Venture to out-mine a destroyer.

As a low skilled newbie? No way. And even with skills maxed out it would still be inferior to a Venture, which doesn't need any contrivances like co-processors.

Don't forget we're talking here about a newbie starting out on the tutorials without any clear idea of what they will do next and therefore needing a good grounding in all the possibilities.

You are fixated on training a lot of needless skills. The destroyer will haul and even mine if need be. You can skip mining, you don't need to even train the skills, better off focusing on combat skills. If you are having problems with loading weapons (or even mining modules), there are modules to help with your power requirements, they worked fine for me.

Mining Frigate (given free in tutorial) Level I: approx 15 minutes. Roll

How so? What if the new player isn't interested in a combat career and wants to be an industrialist, trader, hauler or - dare I say it - a miner?

I repeat: as a newbie? No way. To fit 4 mining lasers on a destroyer, even with fitting mods, requires all relevant skills @ V.

How about start actually reading my posts? I already covered this before you even brought it up. Now you start throwing around the word "trolling" because that must be an obvious thing for someone that disagrees with you Roll so maybe you should start raising literacy levels and start reading posts? Pointless replying to an illiterate troll after all. Hah and for a while, you had me going, thought you were an ok poster. Ah well.
