wow, after so many months of people complaining constantly on the forums about how not enough is being done for FiS because of WiS, the ceo in an unprecidented move capitulates to the demands of the rabble and changes the entire company structure to accomidate their demands, what do we get? pages and pages of posts by people complaining that they're not gonna focus on WiS, we were SO looking forward to WiS, i cant believe they're doing stupid FIS etc. just proves, haters gonna hate, take that as a lesson CCP, dont let the fools lead you around by the nose, they're most definitely blind

p.s. this applies similarly to those people who complain that ccp never improves the game, then scream bloody murder when the graphics get improved and their 6 year old computer cant handle the game anymore, i dont wanna hear anyone complain that your comp cant run eve, throw it in the trash and get a new one, theres no reason to hold eve back cause you dont wanna update your hardware

Heh, this is funny Big smile.
I actually think most people who fought against WiS and for FiS the past few months are actively insulting and provoking those who show their love for WiS.
You should see it in the threads. The thing is, FiS whiners have shut up, because most of them are really looking forward to winter expansion whereas most of the WiS people now have more space to flourish and spread their whining upon these boards.

Forums... You see when people are mad they tend to go on the forum to express their madness. Pro-WiS players didn't have a reason to be mad when WiS was the main focus. Now they basically said WiS is dead, said Pro-WiS woke up due to a certain amount of madness and are gathering.

You assume it's the same people who complain, it's not.

No. It just proves that some people like the game one way, others like it another.

…in this case, though, the “another” group didn't quite have the popular support they kept claiming that they had, so their counter-whines went unheeded.

Maybe because CCP let players hope about FIS&WIS but can't deliver both at the same time?

Also unsubs.

I'll happily now watch all those WiS supporters who said 'good riddance' now try to prove THEIR intent by action.

you sound angry

CCP sent out surveys to account owners with unsubbed accounts asking why they unsubbed and what would it take to get them back.

around the same time players revolted in jita about how crap incarna was and at how much supers were overpowered..........

ccp held an emergency csm meeting and asked why players were leaving in droves.

it all was down to the fact eve online is a spaceship game........... always was a space ship......... and should always be a space ship game.

while walking in station might be entertaining for a week or two after the novelty wears off most players wont bother leave the ship when docked to do their business.

allowing eve to suffer just to please the dress the newly subbed space barbie doll players at the expense of players who have invested upto 8 years of their lives and money was wrong and 120 CCP staff have paid the price for that mistake.

incarna 2.0 will have to wait or else there will be no WiS if the rest of eve players have left cos of FiS neglect.

CCP made the decision to save EVE by fixing it so deal with it. Us pro FiS players have had to wait 2 years of useless barbie doll expansions now it's our turn to get stuff WE want.

Btw, have a look at this. It's the daily PCUs ever since a month before Incarna was released, as reported by eve-offline.

Notice what happened immediately after WiS was released (the first patch-day X)?
Notice what continued to happen after that until very recently (up until the sudden dip in the Saturday and Sunday PCUs, which was when the war against oxytopes began)?
Notice what started to happen immediately after that weekend, when CCP began pumping out FiS-centric dev blogs?

At the same time. We as the consumers should not blindly believe anything that CCP has to tell us. Enough of thier words and development post. They are needed yes to silence the voices that demand to be in the know and theres nothing wrong with that...

They have proven and stated themselves that they basically can't be trusted without our watchful eyes..

A shame to put it like that, but its fact..

It actually is as simple as that. Haters gonna hate.

However hell hath no fury as the bitter vet scorned. WiS lover's hate pales in comparasion so they don't even register on the markers.

That is one way to interpret the data, it is also possible that the fact that CCP has slowly removed people from developing EVE, resulting in fewer features coming out, which has shown as a dwindling subscriber number. Had WiS come out with all four racial CQs and the actual multiplayer part (which might have been possible, had they reconsolidated their corporate policy a year earlier) WiS could have been a lot more popular. Especially if FiS stuff had began a new cycle directly after WiS to make everyone happy.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's not so much the type of features they deliver, but the amount and quality of them. Once this started to dwindle down people noticed it and got upset. With enough people on EVE they could have both developed WiS and FiS simultaneously without compromising either of them.

Well that is my interpretation anyway.

oh lol.

Are all the WiS people whom are complaining the ones stuck out in 0.0 that dont undock because theres an AFK cloakey in system - or they're space is being assaulted and they're too scared to step outside - thus want WiS so they have something ot do rather than ship spinning while their docked? LolLolLol

You do realise - the reason why the entire station enviroment wasnt released - wasnt because they havent finished designing it - its moreso they havent optimised their "Carbon Code" yet. At current - more than 10 other players in a room will make even the dev's fancy supermachines lag out and crash.

How about yall undock and play the game, and let CCP do what they should have done all along?

Priority #1) Fix the undocked game enviroment - thats hwere 90% of the players now, thats where 99% of the bugs, and balancing issues are - becuase of this - it needs immediate attention

Priority #2) Optimise Carbon Code and station enviroment - release it when its READY - not rushed and half arsed like they did with the initial launch

I posted this in another thread but it kind of applies here too:
Some people don't need to be shown a body, and can imagine how it'd be. Some people just like to have a body and their imagination uses that as a base.

Some people play it for the spaceship stuff and don't mind that they don't have a human body, cause that isn't the game. Some people are used to having a body in other games, it seems odd to them when they don't have one in this game.

This is one of those times that you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. What you think the right think for CCP to do isn't what thousands of others think CCP should do.

Adding the body to the game doesn't take away from the game. The only real argument people have against it is that it takes development time away from the spaceships.

CCP has come this far with their own judgement, TBH i hope they stick with their own judgement in the future.

After the NeX bullshit (mostly bullshit on the player's side) i think they're trying to bring some love back by giving us an oldschool internet spaceships expansion that everyone's loved in the past.

I really dont want this to be the death of incarna though, Hilmar's wording seems to leave the possibility open for more incarna, and judging by CCP's past expansions im sure they'll come back around to it a few more times at least, in the future

The idea of the company bringing full focus back to eve and its action is awesome. I think it would be awesome for CCP to run other games as well though. Their technologies could be adapted and even completely added into eve as those other games pass, and eve lives on. I truely believe eve will be here in 10 years, with graphics still competing (Imagine after PS3 dies they add Dust as an expansion to eve?)

Eve has always been the best internet spaceships, despite all the recent attempts to steal CCP's market, eve remains the best just due to i the fact the have SO many things going on, so many different gameplay styles available, and the hardcore fleedom and brutality of a cold and unforgiving universe.. This complexity unfortunately is also the reason patches like incarna and PI get placed on the backburner.

"War declarations are never officially considered griefing and are not a bannable offense, and it has been repeatedly stated by the developers that the possibility for non-consensual PvP is an intended feature." - CCP
