anyone know "whats the chance a wh(of any class) will open in all/ high sec/ lowsec/ nullsec?

I mean in the grand scheme some folk say "i cant ever do this in this dead in system, cuz a WH always opens someone pops out, and pops me". seems that is a bit of unfortunate luck, but.... in eve at large..?

WH opening to your system (K162) is not based on EvE mechanic spawning it but rather on player interaction with wormholes.

If someone scans and warps to wormhole on the other side it will pop up in your system as K162.

So the lower the population on the server the less chance you get that someone will create the wormhole into your system. It also depends on the class you are inhabiting as some statics are used less than others. For example if you live in C4 you have less chance of getting K162 than if you live in C2. This is largely due to the popularity of said wormholes. C4 usually means endless chain of useless wormholes. C2 means easy PVE, PVP and probable k-space exit.

If sorting by class I would say:
C1 - High chance to get guests from high sec.
C2. Very high chance to get guests from anywhere but null sec.
C3. Very high chance to get guests from C5 or low sec.
C4. No One is going to find you even if you scream. Mind you you can't scream in space.
C5. Medium chance to get C6/C5/00.
C6. High chance of getting C6. Low on everything else.

This is based on my experience so it can vary very much. Remember that wormholes are very random so it is just statistical probability

If you want concrete figure on what is the exact chance on wh opening into your system then the number is: 3.8 narwhals on Chitsa scale

C4 are quieter but not that quiet. You will sometimes have guests from C5. Clever people in C5 are doing that :p

This is in response to Chitsa as well; great list of probable incomings, seems pretty accurate from what I know.

C4s will often get statics from C2s, C4s, or C5s. People coming from C2s are looking for PVE most of the time; people coming from C4s are a mix of pvp/pve, C5s are a crap-shoot but are typically just looking for a k-space exit (hoping the C4 statics into a C1-C3).

C4's with C3 statics are also SUPER populated by EU timezone people right now; I know there are several Russian alliances who have been buying them up, so C3s could be a little busy in EU.

your question is quite vaige and hard to answer but as chitsa said K162's apear when somewon opens them from the other side so its not based on chance. It is however likely that wormholes have less chance of spawning in a system that already has active wormholes in it.

Although, I'm pretty sure, that when you cycle your static WH, it's already decided where it ends in to even if you wait 20 day's to open the bastard by figure of speech. As I don't believe that the WH picks his outcome as soon you initiate your warp which initiates the Lifespan and shows his K162 on the other side.

It is hard to prove you wrong. However it has been proven that if you do not warp to your static then K162 on the other side will not appear.

Only by warping to a WH, a K162 will open on the other side?
Is not when you jump?
