Unknown Faction? Updated Dec, 12 patch. Bug still here.

I have 2.4 standings with unknown faction. Anyone know what's up with this? bug?

Oh and when I click show info it says: "The killer of your ship was of an unknown faction."

I never lost a ship.

If you know them as the 'Unknown Faction'...then they arent exactly unknown anymore are they? Just poorly named by their discoverer.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

The only one I can think of is, the damn rocks made the faction of their own. Shocked

Confirmed. I have standings with "unknown" as well. A lot of my loss reports (in combat logs) are losses to "unknown". All of these "unknowns" seem to appear from before the Inferno expansion, when killmails were updated. Maybe this is what's causing it.

I've noticed this seemingly happens with old entries, too (well, depends on your definition of "old"). I once lost a Rokh to a Pith Usurper (several BC and a pair of tacle frigs were involved, but the loss mail reported the Usurper as the killing blow). That was well over two years ago. Anyways, the list of ships I've lost stop reporting "Pith Usurper" on the Rokh loss about a year ago and instead just shows "Unknown". Was the first time I ever lost a BS (and my first attempt at gun boats rather than pure missile) because I didn't get that rails don't really work that well at blaster range. I was so embarassed when someone explained to me that just because something at 3km is obviously well inside optimals, that's not neccessarily a good thing.

I noticed this on my alt the other day - I think it relates to the opponents in the security missions of the tutorial (iirc, something about being destroyed by a battle station in the required suicide missions - at work at the moment, so can't check upP).

It appears that tonight's* patch has fixed this issue.

*I live in Australia, DT is 9pm here.
