Ok, so, maybe I missed it somewhere deep in the patch notes.

But can you guys at CCP give us a way to disable that gawd awful beeping noise you have added with crimewatch?

I rather like the targeting sounds and whatnot without having my ears beeped in all the time, and by beeped at I mean every few minutes. It's like Eve has become an alarm clock. Turning off the UI sound all together seems a bit overkill for something so simple.


I know, I know, CCP is trying to keep idiots alive so they don't concordokken themselves or whatnot. But a lot of people really really give not a single flying rats arse except that they are being beeped at all the damn time now.


It wouldn't even be all that difficult since you gave us that nice space in the overview section where we can turn off all that horribly distracting new overview UI stuff. It would just need a checkbox that says "DIsable Crimewatch Sounds", or "Turn off Crimewatch UI Sounds" ect ect. Or even simpler "Turn off beeping".




Apologies if this is not the correct format for presenting new ideas but this new "feature" really is terribly annoying and I would like very much if I(and others) could have the option to make it go away without axing the entirety of the UI sound board.

Seconded. This is rediculously annoying.

When I'm running sites, every time I change laser crystals (while NOT being shot at) I get one BZZZZZ for the timer starting to tick down, and then another one a second later for it being reset. The little kingle for looting is cute the first time, but when you're looting dozens of wrecks, its annoying.

I know what you are talking about and yes, it always shocks me every time I hear it, like I did something wrong. So far I think its funny, but it wont last....

i dont mind the beeping, its the god damn ear splitting whistle from shuttles which urks me.

A couple points:

There are several new beeps:

Flag Beeps... Anytime you have a flag that is expiring, you get some beeps as it expires. The duration of the flags are indicative of how often you get those beeps...

Weapons Flag expires after 1 minute, and is renewed by shooting a player or activating a smartbomb... You might get this between PvP engagements, but it should be low on the annoyance level.

NPC Aggression & Limited Engagement flags expire after 5 minutes. This is renewed by shooting NPCs or Suspects, respectively. If you are mission running, you probably get this beep between missions, and perhaps even between rooms if you are a slow missioner.

PvP Flag expires after 15 minutes. This beeping should be rare enough as to not annoy you....

The following is Probably the BANE of your playtime: The CAPACITOR BEEP.... just like there is a low shields and low armor and low structure Beep, there is a Low Capacitor Beep that beeps whenever your cap drops below a certain level. The default setting for this is like 60ish%, which many, many ships bounce above and below that value ALL the time... I'm willing to bet, if you alter the Capacitor Beep Level to something like 0% or 5% etc... that most of the truly annoying beeps you experience will go away!

To change the capacitor Beep level, undock, click on the options button just to he right and below of the maximum Speed "+" button. Then click on audio alerts, and you can alter the Beep threshold, or even turn it off...

Every time i hear the capacitor beep while my alt is autopiloting i think I got suicide ganked or something.

Then turn down the threshhold so it doesn't beep under normal operation...

I shoot and get shot at enough to make that happen more than enough to drive me straight up a wall sadly.


The capacitor beep solution is a good one though, I will pass that one on to some people who have been asking about it. The other ones however....
