How many solar systems would we have if they were released like CQ?

I think that question is at the heart of my dissatisfaction with CCP and Incarna.

In real life I have to follow these basic rules:

  1. Make it work,
  2. Make it clean,
  3. Make it fast.

I feel like CCP has started with number 3 in this entire Incarna matter. Back in 2008, we had a WORKING Walking In Stations, if you haven't seen it, go watch now. CCP then decided that it wasn't pretty enough, they could do better, etc (In reality I think they issue was why develop two separate avatar engines).

When Eve was launched, it was kind of ugly, but it worked. It wasn't perfect, but they improved on it over time, that is how Walking In stations should work. I feel like CCP Scrummed themselves into a hole that they're having a hard time getting out of now.

I firmly want WIS to be part of eve, but I want it to have a PURPOSE, as was promised in this video,

"It makes me sick ... but it's what I have to do to get what I need"

See how much effing work it is to get out of your pod? Why leave your pod every ******* time you dock, what happened to you ccp? I know Helmar said we made a mistake, but HOW DID YOU MAKE SUCH A MISTAKE? When you explain an idea to your staff and everyone looks at your awkwardly and then starts to smile and nod, hint you're nutz. Try to listen to them.

Had Eve rolled out like CQ, we'd have about a dozen solar systems now, because they'd have to all look JUST RIGHT!

Kick your art department in the bum, get it moving, get it done.

OK, I think CCP has already got the message. I know I have.

Let's give em time to get their house in order.

Also no need to double post.

Agreed, not much point in kicking them while they're admittedly down.

Especially after they apologized handed you back your wallet and are buying you dinner tonight.

Just like they were beforehand

The reason for this thread is to say "dont' abandon WIS"

Change the way you work, iterate on that work.

The reason for two threads is CCP.

Regarding the threads title and from what little experience I have with EVE, my response is one. One solar system in Minmatar space, and everyone would be Minmatar, with other races coming shortly. Lol

Let me add:

Come up with more solid financial planning/budget calculations and plan on aggressive but doable project deadlines.
Try to amaze your playerbase with new fully fledged features. This will in turn allow you to amaze your shareholders with new numbers of increased playerbase.

Lastly: Sometimes it might be better to surprise us with cool new things than to listen to some interest group or the other.
Sometimes the opposite will be true. And to find the golden line in-between is the hard art of running with customer expectations while at the same time winning new customers.

This is why some people are said to have "a nose for the business". No matter which one you are in.

Thankfully, CCP has realized that people like you are the minority and actually started focusing on things that matter instead of barbies in space...They have basically admitted that Incarna was a massive failure and for more reasons than a limited cq release...Time to get over it and go play second life if you need to get your dress-up fix.

I was once like you, then I used a douche to get the sand out of my vagina and all was good.

I can hook you up if you need,

Hopefully focusing on spaceships means that they'll do smaller, more moderate balances more often rather than one big, fat, heavy-handed balance once a year that they don't review for another 2-3 years.. Roll

I think Eve is headed back in the right direction, however, they shouldn't totally nix Incarna. It has uses and DOES draw in new people. MT would be nice ot be gone, as there aren't any games out there without them anymore (maybe only Darkfall).
