Hey everyone,

I am going to be at Fan Fest 10 this coming April, but I am also going to arrive a few days early so I can play tourist. My intention is to get a group together to get some aerial photography and video to compile a videographical journal of the trip. My plan is to get a good host of features in the tour, but due to the cost of helicopter rides its better to bring along some fellow players to enjoy the ride. The typical cost it seems ranges from 30k ISK to 80k ISK for the really nice ones. Figure 300-800$ depending on how crazy the tour is. Its really dependent upon how much slush money I have.

So if you are interested and only SERIOUSLY interested, please respond below. Tour may be 1-2 hours or more, and I will be in Iceland from Sunday the 21th to Monday the 29th.

Update:

If I can find enough people from the Boston area, I was thinking about upgrading video project to Boston invades Reykjavik. So if your within the area, shout out please, I only just saw that Two Step is in the area so maybe we can get a celebrity :)

My group also plan to arrive on the 20th we already have a heavy schedule before Fanfest to open, but I'll give them the info, some of them could be interested if they still have some spare isk after the planned activities. You plan to go with helicopter.is ?

If my friend doesnt have his wedding out in portland thats travel funds to rejkavik.

If I go it will be for the whole week not just the fanfest date.

I also have a pension for videography. I currently shoot on a Canon Rebel T3i.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.

What ever happened to getting drunk and throwing up on peoples shoes?

Very very tempting... Not planning on any video stuff, but a helicopter tour might be worth the expense regardless. Tuesday or Wednesday are probably the only days that work for me unfortunately, but if so then I'm game.

Am most definitely not from Boston though, or from that side of the pond for that matter.

Who says you can't do both? (Tourism and getting drunk, that is. Throwing up is wasteful and should be avoided)

I think urinating on someones pillow because your too drunk to think your anywhere else but a bathroom is a sign of a seriously messed up night. But regardless the helicopter flight would not be something I would want to diminish while being drunk, before and after, that is another story. I would happily welcome any party member on the flight, and depending on if a cohort makes it or not I may have to scrap the more serious application of videography and just go for some camera action.

To Lyric: I actually recently got my Sony a77 and have been loving it. I am looking to purchase Sony's SAL70200G (g series glass) before the trip. Camera has some radical changes that I find very interesting.

Great, appreciate the update. Almost started to wonder if you'd forgotten or dropped this. Sorry about that.

I trust you'll keep us posted and handle the booking etc when the time comes so that, basically, all I have to do is show up and pay up? I'm fully committed to this (well, for Tue/Wed anyway), but that doesn't mean I can't go for the lazy tag-along role, right? I do so enjoy being that guy. Lol

Haha well I am thinking I will book for either of those days, at this point it is a matter of those interested arriving at what days. No I hadn't forgotten about it, my new little clone has just been occupying my time haha. He however will not be going until he is a little older.

Hate to be a pest, but have you decided on a date yet?

It's getting time for me to plan my trip, and due to some other RL... commitments around those dates I kind of need to get my itinerary sorted soonish (within a couple of weeks). If that's not an option I guess I'll just fly out on Monday so that either day is free, but I'd prefer to know. Thanks.

Sounds interesting. I'm planning on traveling with a friend from the Boston area. Although I don't know if we'll have the funds for that. We're planning on flying out on the 21st as of now.

Helicopter tour - yes! I saw them this year but nobody would jump aboard on short notice.

I'd like to be in on that ride - although I'm available only on Tuesday or Wednesday (before the Symphony) in that week as well.

Well, they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there for shure.

Hey everyone,

Obviously a few people find this interesting, so I will need a few things from all those interested to best schedule this. I know some of you posted already, but if you can specify that would be great, otherwise I will take previous statements into account as best as I can.

-Date of Arrival
-EVE Events you are attending
-Date of Departure
-Amount you are willing to spend (please see OP as a reminder of cost)
-Preferred features (Volcano, Glaciers, Mountains, Coasts, Waterfalls, Trolls and Vikings, etc.)

The flight path entirely depends on amount of people. If we get bare minimum we might opt for a packaged flight plan. If we have enough we can go for a completely custom tour, it's not all that much more expensive, we are really paying for time and fuel which is what goes into the packaged plan prices already.

Myself is below:

-Date of Arrival: April 21st
-EVE Events you are attending: Pub Crawl, Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon, and possibly EVE Symphony. Funds/Time/Space permitting the Charity Dinner
-Date of Departure: April 28th
-Amount you are willing to spend: Anything within reason, provided enough participate
-Preferred Features: Its ******* Iceland, I wanna see it all so help me decide.

Ooh, now it feels like this is getting somewhere. Big smile

Arrival: 23rd, late afternoon (mentioned 22nd as a possibility earlier, but that is sadly no longer an option)
Events: Probably the symphony on 24. 25-27 not available (fanfest, pubcrawl etc), plan on doing ****-all on 28 (so no lagoon for me).
Departure: 29th. (morning)
Budget: Perhaps a stupid thing to say, but cost isn't really an issue as long as it's reasonably close to the figures in the OP.
Preferred features: um... stunning landscape? Haven't really thought that far tbh, but I'd have to go for something along the lines of volcano/glacier/mountain.

Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

-Date of Arrival: Monday, 22nd evening; From experience I know on arrival day I wouldn't be able to do anything more
-EVE Events you are attending: Fanfest itself and the Symphony
-Date of Departure: Sunday 28th, early morning
-Amount you are willing to spend (please see OP as a reminder of cost): The equal share or more if we're short. I'd be willing to pay a large deal of the 80k myself (if that is for the whole group) - I'm not that often up there, so it's worth for me :)
-Preferred features (Volcano, Glaciers, Mountains, Coasts, Waterfalls, Trolls and Vikings, etc.): Anything goes, but preferences are Volcano, Mountains and Waterfalls

So, this leaves only the 23rd and 24th for me.

Well, they oughta know what to do with them hogs out there for shure.
