Hello.

I am thinking of moving to either Guristas or Serpentis nullsec space for a time to do some exploration. 2 questions that may help me decide which...

1.) Which is better ISK - Guristas or Serpentis deadspace items? Is the difference signifcant? What about competition/population between the two areas?

2.) what kind of DPS & Tank will I need to run 6/10, 7/10 and 8/10 DED sites in a reasonable amount of time? I am guessing that 9/10 and 10/10 will be unreasonable to accomplish solo... am I wrong?

Thanks for your time!

Find out for your self, after all it is called 'Exploration", right?

In my limited experience in nullsec one faction might be better when you do magnetometric sites, however the other faction might be better when you do DED/unrated sites. Which is which? - go out and explore!

Loot...

Guristas get better modules, shield boosters etc.
Serpentis get the vindicator BPC, the rest isnt great unless its the X-type stuff, but even then no way as good as some of the shield stuff.

Be warned. The only Guristas null your find is inhabited by alliances like mine who will hunt you if we find you near our space.
Even if you got to Gurista NPC you are not gonna have an easy time of it.

Best bet is to join an exploration corp, IE like mine and get the rewards whilst PVPing for fun.

Whatever you do, do research the sites. There is/was at least one 8/10 that is harder than most/all10/10s. Right now is a bad time with the expansion and lack of ability to test things on SiSi. I think the prior consensus was 6/10 was OK solo -- with a 5/10 being like a Level V mission and anything higher only attempt if you know what you're doing. As for Guristas vs. Serps....I've been away from it too long to say.

QFT.

On the how bad they are, they are pretty screwy, Amarr ones are harder I hear just for their EWAR, specific sites have a number that may or may not indicate their diffiulty, ect...

Joining an exploration corp or at least finding people to go with is prolly a sound idea to start with, even if the ISK won't be good, they'll teach you, and knowledge is power.

"We want PvE activities to require active participation and mirror PvP more closely." Stacking penalty for NPC EWAR then? Lock range under 9km from over 100 in a BS is not fun. Nor is two NPC web drones making me crawl 10m/s. PvP SW-900 x5: 75m/s.

Good luck with this, I can't imagine how much of a goat**** a serpentis plex must be right now with the npc ewar going crazy. Prolly want to figure on bringing at least 2 logi as well thx to the god awful botched AI change that has been deployed.

Thanks for the responses guys, very helpful.

I have significant experience at nullsec and wormhole exploration - lived in Sansha space for a few months running 6/10 and 10/10 sites (before they expanded the sites to add in all the missing numbers/difficulties). My scanning character even has an award from the corp for 100+ sites scanned and run - I earned many billions for myself and the corp, stolen from the bounties of the south. I know Sansha, and FYI for those who are interested - did you know you can make a covert ops/interdiction nullified Loki that costs less than 1b and can tank over 2400 Sansha DPS? That along with a BOPS (preferably the Amarr one with pulse lasers) for DPS and for the covert ops jump portal, and you have a site running machine. Of course, that was all before the AI would switch targets so the Loki could take the full room aggro while the BOPS cleaned up.

I just don't have any experience in the northern or western nullsec regions.

Good point about the recent AI changes - my planned ship can tank ~1200 serpentis/guristas DPS and do over 800 DPS, without drones, and would be unaffected by sensor damping (guristas i believe?). Tracking disruption would only affect it a little bit I think. I am hoping this is enough for some of the moderately difficult sites, and I realized it's not enough for all of them and definitely not the most difficult. Even if I lost the ship it would be an experience to remember.

I still am undecided on where I want to go but this gives me some great things to consider. Thanks!

Damp = Serp.
Jam = Gurista.

Not sure how TD can affect you in any matter but binary.
Oh wait, NPC EWAR doesn't affect falloff?

You also need to consider that NPC Serpentis space is only 7 systems, while NPC Guristas is the entire Venal region.

Jamming would suck - Damps won't matter much as I plan a blaster ship so I have to be point blank range anyway... of course, need range for the web to catch frigates so...

As for TD, that might affect me, but neither Gurista or Serp should do that, so it's a moot point.

True - for Syndicate, but Solitude has NPC stations and Serpentis rats too even though it's not serpentis space.
